Will there ever be a brown laser ?

Originally lasers were deemed to have no practical value. How Ironic it would be to not have the investment into the brown area of the light spectrum based on the same presumptions.

Ornate CNC casing for lower power output lasers ?

Are there any companies that specialise in CNC milling casings for laser pointers for the lower end of the market ? I don't mean price, I mean power i.e. 1mW. Sure, there are the high power output models that get the nice cases, but how often can they be used. Better would it be, in my...

    Safe UK companies ?

I am looking for a reputable company in the UK for a laser pointer. I don't want to have to worry that there is no IR filtering, or that the power output is not as described. Are there any reliable companies in the UK, preferably made in the UK as well, unless lasers (like magnets) are all...

Nobody think about these things, but what if ?..

    Laser to detect plastic/alloy materials

kecked: I plan to keep it simple by simply collecting data to begin with, then modify a version afterwards for collection. The idea is relieve humans of the task of collecting litter. Cyparagon: Spectroscopy.

    Laser to detect plastic/alloy materials

I need further consultation on this, I am still wedded to the idea of a laser based system because it provides indisputable feedback, where as an image needs to be trained, a laser will know. As the system will not physically collect refuse, merely scout and collect location data, whether it...

    Laser to detect plastic/alloy materials

I was interested in the drone scanning along the roadside only, around my area its pretty clean cut what is natural matter and what is human waste. I will investigate the photography option, best start simple as you point out.

    Laser to detect plastic/alloy materials

Thanks for the replies. I am sure I read somewhere that there was a recycling plant which could use lasers to detect the type of material and automatically sort the plastic accordingly: https://www.acreo.se/projects/laser-methods-for-automatic-scrap-metal-sorting...

    Laser to detect plastic/alloy materials

Walking along the road our way in the countryside I notice food snack wrappers on the roadside all of the time: water bottles (glass and plastic), cans, crisp packets, the usual. Instead of manually picking them up and focusing my eyes on the floor, instead of the scenery! I would like a arial...

    Rainbow dot?

Thanks for all the info guys!

    Rainbow dot?

How much would it cost for a custom pen with this diode please?

    Rainbow dot?

RGB laser projector pens seem too bulky for what I need, I was looking for the whole thing in pen format. Perhaps there is a diode that can do two or more colours, so that the components can be kept to a small size?

    Rainbow dot?

Interesting, perhaps then it would be better to have a circle of coloured dots, like a colour wheel, only, overlapping, if they don't have boundaries as you suggest.

    Rainbow dot?

So it is possible then, with a custom build, to get a rainbow output, if custom built? What size are we talking here?

    Rainbow dot?

I'm not looking for an external device to shine a laser on to, I am looking for an all-in-one pen which can emit an assortment of coloured laser in a rainbow like fashion into a single dot please.

    Rainbow dot?

dacha: You're right. By complete coincidence I came across the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bx_5wMYNlRc&app=desktop I was looking for a hand held pen laser that would project a dot with all the colour inside of it.

    Rainbow dot?

Is there a laser that will project the colours of the rainbow onto a single dot?

    For use in shop

Gabe: Thank you for taking the time to explain the difference between focusing and magnifying, that really should be included in the Wikipedia blurb, perhaps you should add it? hakzaw1: It was also interesting to learn the way the eye works to take in more light resulting weaker lasers take...
