    Low mA drivers?

I can cite a couple reasons why not to make drivers. 0 inquiries for an entire year prettymuch qualifies as no interest The DFN chips used are a real pain to reflow and very expensive. Flak from interests who do not wish to see the proliferation of handheld lasers

    Mitsubishi-G84-638nm-2500mW-Laser-Diode

Possibly a source for phototherapy Uses lower power density, multiple emitters, usually <1W total output

Not doing anything risky with mine until/unless someone does power testing Plan is to shoehorn into a keychain, but don't keep your fingers crossed! :na:

Project overkill... not what you think!

So many beautiful hosts! +rep and just saw thread featuring my drivers :) ! They have grown up now gone out into the world on their own to exotic places and all still working AFAIK, feel like a proud father 685nm diodes have such tight divergence and beautiful color Have another Super...

    X-Drive X-Boost

C6 was originally an LED flashlight running at 350mA or something small like that? Heat needs a place to go. Can't mount the round X-Boost in such a way that the IC contacts the pill

    X-Drive X-Boost

No. Looking at this picture here The small black IC right of the yellow arrow is the part that needs heatsinking. Also it is shorter than the diode and inductor so many design challenges not really sure what the round ones are good for That is good you can machine parts for it, makes...

    X-Drive X-Boost

Depends on the exact C6 in hand, really but ideally the heatsink also contacts the host outer casing to get the heat out, else it gets hot internally with no external indication A good heatsink nearly fills the empty space inside the host.

    X-Drive X-Boost

Running @1.7A needs decent heatsinking 16.8mm has trouble fitting a heatsink inside the C6, but I think what most people do is thermal epoxy a rectangular X-Boost to the pill with Arctic Alumina or else use the Survival Laser driver Shame I don't have a rectangular X-boost else I would check...

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please Go down to Radio Shack and pick up one of the red solder sucker bulbs and use it only for blowing dust off optics, if they still sell them.

    New 405nm Diode - 9mm 1W Rated

High power 405nm makes lousy light for a DLP projector. Otherwise they would be common and cheap.

    New 405nm Diode - 9mm 1W Rated

Think mW for mW it will still burn better than 445nm due to the wavelength

    Post a picture of yourself!

It would probably die, but a thread for posting current health conditions seems nice about now. Looks like I'm not alone the way I'm feeling. :undecided:
