    NUBM0G laser build

Put a white phosp thing in the front so it doubles as a flashlight

    Pot mod green laser true?

Want some fun take the module apart and try using a higher power pump diode. You’ll hit a thermal limit but that will do the trick. Alignment can be difficult. A lot of these use crystals with mirrors on the end of the crystal so they are aligned to start.

Scientist Turn light into a " Supersolid " for the 1st time.

Think about it if you could make a megawatt light solid that delivered its payload on contact…..photon torpedo!

Build & Review: 57X nm Module from TinkerTavern

If the camera is right tha looks about right with just a hint of green. Like a mostly ripe lemon. Mine came in at 573nm as advertised. This was on a Andor spec so I know it’s right.

I love the yellow I got from him.

Chance to get a 300mW 607nm pointer module! Group Buy 607nm Orange pointer Modules!

Message me the costs and maybe we can cost share and make it happen.

    Continuum laser media

I don’t have an opa but you’re right. What we are doing is looking for resonances in materials so we sweep a narrow wavelength tighter better until we find shg. Note it and move on. Then come back and narrow in as tight as we can to peak it. We expect uw of shg from this or nothing at all...

    Continuum laser media

Yea I tried that. Works but not enough power. I think I’m stuck with the dye laser to get enough tunable power to do shg in the visible.

    Continuum laser media

Anyone know a reasonable cost source for structured media for continuum? I need to pump it to make a continuum but I need enough power after the shift to shg to the UV. Right now I have a tisaph 980-800. So I can reach 490-400. But I’d like to get 600-400 but still have enough power for shg...

How can I drive a laser diode at 1MHz for a speed of light experiment?

But the edge is perfect no? See speed doesn’t matter for this experiment as your comparing the phase of two pulses. So slow is fine. Actually CW is fine in an interferometer. Fringes. Getting the path length right is most important. Thanks for the explaination. I never need a chopper for...

How can I drive a laser diode at 1MHz for a speed of light experiment?

More….why it blocks or it doesn’t. I have not used one for decades. I’d think it be instant on instant off. I however am assuming the speed remains constant.the blades are not bent, ect…. Now thinking of it you’d want to place it at the center of a set of lens too for the smallest spot size...

How can I drive a laser diode at 1MHz for a speed of light experiment?

What I’m saying is you don’t need to chop that fast. You just want a pulse train with shape edges.

Low power diode collimating lens wavelength range

Measure the absorbance of the lens…..it might be eating your power.

How can I drive a laser diode at 1MHz for a speed of light experiment?

That’s not a bad thought to use a chopper. Reason is the rise and fall of the diode will then be perfect since it is just blocked. The speed of the chop doesn’t need to be that fast. You just are measuring the phase difference between the pulses which is relatively easy. You could eliminate...

    Purchasing test loads for drives

I use to put 4 1n4001 in series for the voltage drop and a 100 ohm resistor in series with that. I was simulating the 1 w blues of the time. https://laserpointerforums.com/threads/how-to-make-a-selectable-dummy-load-very-in-depth.64585/

67 Watt NUBM47 Diode???? I'm not so sure about this.....

Les is VERY reliable. This is a very well known trick. I literally just commented this before seeing this on another thread. So the driver is pulsed and it puts an extremely high current into the diode for a very short time. It would be a dangerous and pretty useless device for most of you...

New horizons Nichia NUBC31T coming soon 465nm 13W rated!

In pulse mode easily in the kw. Ns pulses that is. I’d like to see this down around 420nm to drive continuum lasers.
