Aha, this advice is what I needed. Thank you.
I'm also worried that connections between the heatsink or driver could be compromised. I mean, it's been nine years. But as far as I know they're all soldered in and the diode is pressed into the heatsink. The laser has been kept in a dry box.
Thanks. Ordered a Vapcell 26650, should be with me in a week.
Also I'd like to mention that one of the reasons why I checked back in LPF is because I ordered an Emisar D4v2, with the rosy emitters. 😄😄😄
Hey everyone!
I joined back in 2012, got acquainted with laser safety, and gained a wealth of knowledge thanks to a ton of LPF members.
Well, a lot has happened since then. Life happened. 🍺
Anyway I wanted to check back and ask the community, how much has changed in the portable laser scene...
Got mine from the post office earlier today. Put a little teflon tape around one since my heatsink's threads are a tiny bit wider.
Usual delays as expected from the local PO. Tracking indicated that the lenses arrived in the country on the 9th, but I decided to wait until they sent the usual...
*giddy*
Can't wait to see the photos, don't worry it's gonna work out soon!
I'll be standing by for Eitan's PM when he's ready to ship out.
I'll stick with regular shipping, though, haha.
Cheers!
Very nice setup. Looks great! I have a couple of small mirrors lying around but mounting them properly always seemed to be a problem. Thanks for sharing!
I love "sleepers", stuff that look ordinary but perform beyond expectation. That's the reason why I got the S12 two years ago, and slightly off-topic, the Yuin PK1 earphones.
I think these small AAA lights (S1, L10, Solitaire LED) are great. The "can't feel it's there" factor plus the...
Payment sent, thanks a lot guys.
I wonder how much space and weight (box-wise) 359 lenses would take. It is indeed tricky having to contact an agent at the same time keeping the declared value under wraps.
I'd be in the same boat as Thejoker301 about if it was only my money, and wouldn't...
Hehe yeah I agree! I was able to try out my uncle's V11r with extension. Very smooth variable light. But aside from the 26650-packing MMU-X3, I wanted to keep the small light in the single-AAA form factor. Any other single AAAs that come highly recommended? :thanks:
I have several hobbies but honestly one of the most self-serving is this one.
Photography, I can share my photos with others
Hifi personal audio, I can let them enjoy the aural bliss
Pens, I can write nice letters for special people
EDC, I can always be ready to help those around me
DIY...
I sold my two year old 4Sevens S12 a few weeks ago. Its power was very pleasant to have in such a small package. The person I sold it to had a Nitecore TM26, a quad-XML2 3800lm blaster. The form factor isn't for me, though.
I'm expecting the newer foursevens MMU-X3 in the mail soon.
For EDC, I...
All I've got is a 2W 405 though but whenever I'm just about to place the battery in, I put the glasses on, wherever I am. If there's anyone with me, I lend them another pair. Of course since I also do some photography, I temporarily free my eyes to look into the viewfinder.
Slightly off-topic...
Oh you know those stalls scattered around shopping malls that sell motorcycle helmets, hand tasers, led flashlights, dolphin-shaped massage machines, clothing, accessories, and other knick-knacks.
