Greetings,
I was just wondering if anyone has thought about correcting the rectangular profile of a typical blue diode laser, using a cylindrical lense? I've never heard of adjustable lenses of this shape, but maybe there is something?
Greetings,
Can anyone recommend me a way to stick a T0-220 heatsink onto a powerful diode driver? I've seen two types on Amazon - silver metal, and some kind of ceramic oxide, both in epoxy tube pairs. Is this the right way to go? I intend to fix a micro fan blowing on the heatsink, which...
Greetings,
I have bought a laser module already wired up to an Aixiz module, but I want to press this into a aluminum heat sink block, which I have read would work well with a 15/32 drilled hole (~11.9mm). Can the module be pressed in with the laser still attached, assuming the front lens...
Greetings!
Has this happened to anyone else here? I ordered one of these from Aixiz Lasers:
532nm 200mW Laser With TTL Modulation TEC, AixiZ
It was supposed to be a 200mW 532 laser system. What I received was 447nm 300mW, according to its label. I can't see that one in their web site. Is...
Greetings,
How does one find the electrical specs on a dvd laser - for example if you receive and old machine, sometimes it not even obvious to me what the speed of the dvd writer is or anything about its laser.
Excellent advice, thank you all very much.
One more related Q: Once it's set to the desired level, do you guys turn the thing off and back on again at will, or do you always ramp up the power from zero each time.
Greetings,
MASTECH HY1803D VARIABLE DC POWER SUPPLY
Amazon.com: MASTECH HY1803D VARIABLE DC POWER SUPPLY: Electronics
This has a current-limiting control, but I don't know if it's good enough to drive laser diodes. It says you can set the voltage to zero, and the current to maximum, an then...
Cheers! Nice line of code you got there. I'm very happy not to do C++ any more, I moved up to C# a few years ago, tis MUCH simpler.
Where were you living 15 minutes away? I'm off Canal Road near 518.
Hi all,
Just introducing myself. I'm actually a software engineer, but in my spare time (lol like I have any with the kids nowadays) I have been known to collect light bulbs, among other things. Lasers too, though my collection has been a single HeNe laser I got for Christmas around 30 years...
Cool - thanks for the pics. Am I looking at this right - in pic #2, there looks to be a black circle on the RHS with a bunch of artifacts (4 big blobs of blue). Is that circle the hole you mean, or is it the tiny dot in the middle of the circle? Looks like the beam is very thin there.
Beautiful...
If that's the drill set where the box is the size of a quarter, I have the same! Came in useful once or twice.
I wonder if you could try this (I don't have my laser yet): Point at a wall say 50' away, and photograph the beam and artifacts. Now mount a jewel case black sheet 6 inches in front...
