Same thing happened to me. Bought a house, got married to a perfect spouse, have a few pets etc. That said, my pointers just lay idle in a drawer. Welcome back
If it is ok, I can give you the person I got this from. I did meet him via Alibaba

You hold the gun against the work to cut or weld. The copper tip holds the optics the correct distance. Whe using the rust cleaning gun you hold it away from the material like a paint sprayer. If you are familiar with fiber optic lasers, it just depends on which lens you choose.
Here is a link...
About 8 grand. I get personal technical support in English from the supplier and all the spare parts. Local American companies charge more than twice the amount for the same machine. This was what I thought a laser pointer should be able to accomplish.
I will be receiving this in a month. It will clean rust, cut, and weld with the different attachments. It is a 1500 watt water cooled system with a RECI fiber laser system.
I been around lasers quite some time. what is a household laser? a cat toy? in the mean time / well just put up a screen to block any stray beams from my machines
To put this thread back on track. I am looking for a laser power meter to test up to 40 watts. I am going to start testing the cnc diode laser heads for myself. There is a lot false claims, and junk ones out there and a few legit ones. I have two that are marked 30 watts that seem to put out 5.5...
You can try a bigger "7"watt output sold as a "30" watt module. These are great on cutting small pieces. You can get them for under 200$ anywhere on ali express or Amazon
