PLTB AKA Portable Laser Test Bench (Work In Progress) LOTS-O-PICS

Hey folks I'm kinda back, and I'm reworking my PLTB to be more user friendly simpler but still with all the bells and whistles, minus the 3.8" color LCD touchscreen, I tried to find a similar size serial color LCD, but no luck at least not ones cheaper than the monochrome graphic LCDs I had...

linking "two" home networks with different IP ranges

Look into using DD_wrt third party router software..I have 2 cisco wireless routes, which would both come up as 192.168.1.1, but the one on my entertainment center is configured as a wireless bridge, still using the same 192.168.1.1 as my main router so it ends up being a 4 port wireless switch...

    Teensy Driver?

Building a buck OR boost driver isn't hard, what IS hard about them is making sure you get teh current correct, at which point you end up having a set current. but if you just want to make a driver that can have an adjustable current usign the uC then look around I built one incorperated into a...

    Teensy Driver?

As chefla said directly no, as regalis said its over the top, but you could and you possibly could make it into a Buck boost with adjustable current, note I said "COULD" it would take some engineering.

Tearing Apart the LPC-815 Sled. Give Me the Goodies!

NP, I actually mention it because I'm gonna try and use it and a PHR-803t pbs/sled block for a RGB portable...if I can even get around to learning to mil, and get the aluminum to make it.

Tearing Apart the LPC-815 Sled. Give Me the Goodies!

The angle piece that turned the beam(s) up towards the lens, acts just like a Red dichro, It'll pass green at 80-90% but reflect Red/UV/445 atround 80-90%.

    Electric Glove.

Everybody I'm sorry, but I think I may end up getting wolf shocked, he'll most likely live to tell about it, but in the event he uses one that causes the FBT to produce higher currents...I am sorry. Oh yea and I realize you were using "us" as an example...

    Electric Glove.

What I mean is, imagine the + and - of the FBT as the + and - of a battery (a very high voltage battery of course) if you touch the + of said battery and grab onto say a metal rod shoved into the ground do you receive a shock (excluding any static electricity), the same goes for the - do you...

It is Here.!!!!! 300mW "635nm" Mitsubishi.....

This idea MAY be out of some peoples range of ability but I imagine the programmers on here could work something out... found this lil baby on my favorite hobby site (Again) Color Light Sensor Evaluation Board - SparkFun Electronics if my understanding is correct its the less expensive color...

Why it's better to use glavos instead of RC servos for a projector

The problem is in the fact that the servos acualy have steps, at least the ones I have and I think each step was 5-10 deg any ways.

Why it's better to use glavos instead of RC servos for a projector

Nah it was put together in a card board box, and besides the RX/TX are still used for my quad copter, and jet (if I ever get either completed),

    Electric Glove.

^^^^ That my good sir is an oximoron (I think) since HIgh voltage is not safe and playing with it isn't either, yet wearing something that will emit HV is definetly not safe. As for the ground wire, not really donna do too much good, since both the negative and positive of the HV will be coming...

Why it's better to use glavos instead of RC servos for a projector

I just through this togther just to see the how it would actually perform, at minimum I was hoping to be able to create a solid straight line, but as I've discovered and all of you have pointed (also knew before doing this) the servos move entirely too slow.

Why it's better to use glavos instead of RC servos for a projector

The idea has been floating around my head for a while, about using RC servos, since they are a little easier to DIY control vs galvos not to mention a heck of a lot cheaper. I knew I had some micro RC servos lieing around, and thought I'd give it a whirl..... The end result, you can't really...

    Electric Glove.

OK, my bad on the 1cm/KV part I knew it was smaller then 1in, as far as making the 50KV or so TV flyback transformer procured from... well a TV, there are plenty of documented drivers for them.

@wolf stand rule o thumb is 1KV/cm or so (I think) and as for an arc from finger tip to tip with fingers spread out... I believe thats 30-50KV.

    Driver board layout Large Images

JIb and anybody else you see having a purple PCB with gold throuh hole plating uses PCB Order | DorkbotPDX. Like I said it's $5/in^2 for 2 sided board just use eagle cad.

    Driver board layout Large Images

I agree use eagle cad, then you can join the rest of us who use dork bot PCB for $5 per square in double sided. As for traces and what not, I've been told by an associate who used to work for Crown fork lifts designing their PCB's that it's not advisable to use 90deg turns on small traces...
