Hey all, quick "color blocking" idea!

So, I plan on making a fully functioning ncr ranger helmet with lights in the eyes. I can think of a few ways to do that. My idea is to have 2 sheets of plastic, 1 reflective later, and 1 of the sheets of plastic would need to block out blue. So theoretically: ||->o|| || Sheet1 to light...

Wide beam projector from Amazon (china?)

I have a wide beam laser diode that i got from amazon for a couple bucks, came with the driver attached as well as a module around it, it has a threaded top. It has some sort of "wide lens" on the inside with 2 dimples after i remove the exterior "focusing" lens. The focusing lens does...from...

I feel like I'm being ignored or something

I messaged DTR, Moh, and maraujoh about aquiring stuff from them through purchase, no response over 3 days.

    Mystery diode

I found a mystery diode inside of a anti-static bag still sealed. How do you tell what it is by just looking at it? It's got 3 round indentations on the brass ring around the can. It also has long leads about half a inch in lenght. I believe i bought it from hightech dealz.

So, after getting my first high power laser...

What wavelength should i aim for next? I really want to use the playstation 3 sled diode i have....

    very pleased!

very pleased with the device i recieved from grainde. He even went the extra mile for polishing the focus cap! Kryton Groove, polished, GITD, 638nm with G lens. +1 (would give +99 if i could) Edit: link to pics! http://imgur.com/a/32FP8

    WTB Laser protective sheets

I'm looking for Laser protective sheets able to be cut to shape, particular wave length and strength i'm looking for is 638nm at around 300mW. Thank you!

    Looking for recomendations on 638nm

After doing some research, and finding out that 638 nm is extremely visable and not as expensive as 589nm (which i was originally looking at for my PewPew cosplay prop,) Do any of you fine people have a recomendation as to where/which model of the 638nm module i should use. I am looking for a...

    Cosplay+ laser questions

So, over the course of a little less than a year i plan on cosplaying as my character from Fallout New vegas, I played the energy weapon play through which was a lot of fun because It used lasers. I plan on making a replica of my favorite energy weapon the Laser pistol called "Pew Pew". Pew...

    Anyone have issues with DX?

I seem to have ordered a charger and 2x batteries from DX, i got a product number but i missplaced it somewhere :(. I was going to check and see where it was, but apparently i didn't make an account so how do i figure out where my item is?

issue with test load, dmm bad? Diodes bad?

I was soldering and doing fairly well for my first time of soldering such a small thing, and the green pcb had tinned spots for "+" and "-" to be soldered on which would then be connected to the diode. I was just doing it to connect to my test load and it was going well till i had to...

Need help identifying high power red diode:

Found this model cheap at a local hardware store: it is used but had burning capabilities at 16x. Anyone have any experience with the 650nm diode? I extracted the diode without the screw, I can't tell if it's ir or red it has a 7 on it. With a heatsink surrounding it. Edit: finally got the one...

    PHR-803T Sled Lens

I recently purchased and just received a phr-803T sled in the mail. I extracted the laser diode and decided to "dissect" the sled further, pulled out all the optical components; including the beam contaminator, inferred filter, stopping filter and the optical lens at the front of the sled. This...

What type of adhesive should i use for my heatsink?

I am wondering what type of adhesive i would use to stick my Module (Aixis for 5.6mm) into my plastic lighter host, as well as onto my Aluminum heat sink. According to the Second poster i would use a thermal greese/adhesive for the Heat sink, however for attatching it to the plastic i would use...

Looking for someone that can make a custom Heat sink:

Its going to be made in the fashion of a Lighter Heat shield: I will give the dimensions and i would prefer it be made out of aluminum. If anyone can help me with such a project, give me a buzz either in PM, this thread, or in my msn tag (email to it). That would be great! Also: I would like to...

PHR-803T Laserlighter safety and focus build:

Does the PHR-803T need proper heatsinking? (if driven at 150mw) or does it require a simple Aixis module. Does the PHR-803T fit my needs for a laser diode that will ignite things roughly 2 inches away from the lense? or will another diode do better? I've allready bought a PHR-803T sled and the...
