Well, I killed a microboost driver when trying to assemble my host together. Somehow it got stuck, bent the leads on my diode, shorted the driver and now I have a $30 bill compressed into 2cm^2 that I cannot repair or get back...
I ended up making a lm317 driver because I do not have any paypal...
For a lens, I have a 445nm lens from rayfoss. www.rayfoss.com
You can get two of them for only 13 dollars
The beam stays pretty small at distances. Much better than whatever coated lens that was previously in the build.
Only con about it is that the lens is half threaded. So, you can either...
Fantastic! I dropped it and its now LED.... FANFUKINTASTIC! Well, it looks like I will have to re-list this thread. Well, Im not wasting my time fixing it for the same mW, I am going to get an LPC-826 to throw in here for 300mW+
@InfinitusEquitas I am happy to hear it is a reasonable price. I...
There, The price has been lowered. As expected, this is not for somebody looking for the cheapest red laser on the market. This is for somebody who appreciates a nice one of a kind quality build.
I cannot drop the price any more as it cost nearly the same price in parts as the sales price...
Re: ***SALE 8/8-8/15 1.2 Watt Copper 445nm blue lasers $129.99 shipped****
Wow, I got mine for 180 back whenever I got it. Too bad I did not wait a little. Whatever, it is what it is and its still working like a charm and I have not been too friendly with the 1 minute duty cycle idea, Then...
I have spent a lot of time working on this build. I especially spent a LOT of time modifying the host to make it one of a kind. It is a shiny, yet rough aluminum with a few clear coats of paint for protection of scratches.
The diode is an open can, and it the lens is a 3 element 660nm AR...
Doesnt mean its the best one, but its the smallest I can come up with as long as you can solder in very tiny areas. You will want a breadboard.
I would get a 555 timer, a 1K ohm resistor (1/4W will work for both), a 2.2K ohm resistor and a 16uF 16V+ capacitor. That circuit there will provide...
Nice creativity! Thats a great setup with the regulator on the pill (too bad I drilled mine out) But you should reverse it so the metal on the regulator is on the aluminum pill instead of the plastic and add thermal paste. Also, when you have everything how you want it and no longer intend to...
