There was this really cool open source Laser projector software at 27c3.
YouTube - PSGroove.com - OpenLase - Chaos Communication Congress
It's open source, so anyone with a laser projector can try this for themselves, the source code is here.

Wow. This is the multimedia section, I commented on this particular type of media. I didn't realize commenting about something that was IN the video would be such a huge form of misconduct, and would lead me to getting neg repped. I expected more a forum veteran. Some people take things way too...
Pretty sweet. I have a star kaleidoscopic tip from a dx greenie. Basically it's just two diffraction gratings and you can move the top grating to create a kaleidoscopic effect. Maybe if you could find a way to keep the top part moving, you could keep the dynamic feel in your living room...
I wish that were the case whenever I buy something from HK. Then again, you're in the U.S, but I don't see how that would change anything other then... customs?
They use the same ups shipping service I believe. I'd go with think lasers if you're really serious about buying a Wicked Laser, since you probably won't see a laser for weeks if you buy from WL, what with all the delays and whatnot.
edit: Oh shoot really? First time I'm hearing this :/.
When I got HK tracking numbers from DX it would only tell me when the package would leave china. After a few days I used the same tracking number and entered it into the Canada Post tracking site. So in your case I would wait a few days then enter it into the USPS site.
I'm not going to be using this as a driver if thats what you meant. I just only need the switch it has, and maybe the smd led. Also, I can't say for sure, but if I removed all the components but the switch, it would look like the blank boards with switch that jayrob sells with his pen hosts...
I want to use the driver I salvaged from a broken green pointer as a switchboard. But there is also a tiny led that I want to keep on there functioning for emission indicator purposes. Is this possible at all? And if so, which components do I keep/remove. Pics below.
