    RF CO2 build

Interesting, the gate lead on the FET seems to just be at ground, even with all power supplies turned on. Does this point to the FET?

    RF CO2 build

Alright, hooked it up to my scope. I have a kinda dirty 27 MHz sine wave coming out of the preamp board, but the rails on the laser are sitting at a constant 36V DC. So it seems like my power amp is screwed up somewhere. I mean, even if the laser is dead, I should still be seeing the amplified...

    RF CO2 build

Alright, I added another ground connection and it didn't seem to do anything. I tested continuity before doing this and the laser and main board were already grounded to each other, so I didn't really expect it to make a difference. So I know that the laser has those copper strips running down...

    RF CO2 build

Oh, that's a good point about the grounding. Right now the two units are only connected by a dinky coaxial cable. I had assumed that the sleeve was ground but I'm not even sure if that's correct. I'll ground them properly and let you know how that goes (hopefully well).

    RF CO2 build

Hey guys, I'm in a similar situation to the OP. I bought one of these lasers and power supply from heruur a few years ago and I'm having a shot at getting it to lase. The preamp seems to be working fine. I'm supplying PWM and I can get both green LEDs on the board to vary in brightness as I vary...

    FS: Novalasers Alpha 125

Yeah I'm not interested in going that low on this laser. I'm having trouble finding the paperwork but I'm pretty sure it was spec'd at 135-140mw average with a peak at around 146mw. About a year and a half ago I built one of the laser power meters from this thread...

    FS: Novalasers Alpha 125

I guess I didn't pick a great time to sell with the whole 445 craze going on.

    FS: Novalasers Alpha 125

I have decided to lower the price to $250.

    FS: Novalasers Alpha 125

I bought this laser almost this laser almost three years ago. However, I lost a fair bit of interest the hobby less than six months after purchasing it and it has been sitting in my closet rarely used since then. It's in great condition and does not have a single scratch. I don't own a laser...

    RF excited CO2 lasers

Hey guys, sorry to bump up an old thread but I finally took my laser off the shelf and tried to get it working a couple days ago and I need a bit of help. My laser is one of the later ones sold and is set up so that the laser head needs 32v and the board requires +12v, +5v, and PWM. I have been...

    WTB nova Alpha 125

I have an Alpha 125 for sale. Check out this thread for details: http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/fs-novalasers-alpha-125-a-42168.html

    FS: NovaLasers Alpha 125

Up for sale is my Alpha 125 from Novalasers. It's a fantastic laser and I love it dearly, but my interests have simply moved on from lasers and it doesn't see very much use anymore. It comes with the accompanying case from Novalasers as well as a Novalasers diffraction grating. Unfortunately, I...

DIY Laser Power Meter Interface Module

I have one of the thermal power meter heads from this thread. If anyone is interested in buying it, PM me. I also have Knimrod's non-programmable board for it, assembled. All you would need do to get it working is hook it up to a multimeter.

    RF excited CO2 lasers

I probably won't get a chance to test it out for a few days. :( I'm pretty busy this week and I'm waiting on some batteries for it.

Side PC board? It doesn't look as if I'm missing anything.

    RF excited CO2 lasers

The laser arrived today. Unfortunately it does not seem as if the PWM was included. Hopefully when that gets sorted out and my goggles arrive I will be able to get this working.

    RF excited CO2 lasers

I'll have to say no then as I just can't make a commitment to that at the moment. Sorry.

    RF excited CO2 lasers

I might be interested if when my laser arrives. The lasers have a decent range without a lens right?
