Thanks!
Yeah. They are a solid build, in a great little host.
Someone will get a pretty good deal. I make all my own heat sinks, and I love electronics, so I just build them for fun. Once these sell, I’ll move onto my next builds.
good question. I don’t have a meter to measure output, but based on spec, they should be roughly:
M160 at 1.6 amps should be around 1,800mW of output power. Capable of 2.200mW at 1.8 amps.
The BDR at 0.6 amp will fall between 8-900mW of output power.
Forgot to mention, the BDR has less than 5 minutes of use, and the M140 has less than 10. These were brand new diodes from DTR.
Also, buy both and take them for $160 shipped in the US.

Hey all,
I have two lasers up for grabs. They are both built in a great little host (1-18650 or 2-CR123.)
Both have a custom copper heat sink, and I will include a 3 element and a G2 lens with each one.
I’m asking $100 ea. Shipped within the US.

I’m responding now. I’ll ship it wherever, so it’s yours. I said I’ll do something, so I’ll do it.
I enjoy building lasers and I’ve made a few really cool custom things utilizing the 405 and 445 diodes the last couple days. Just need to figure out where to go to sell them for what they’re worth...
Wow! Guess you have to give stuff away around here! How bout this. If someone pm’s me in the next 30 minutes, I’ll sell them this laser for $45! I’ll even include a Sony vtc5 battery.
I guess I’m better off making rings. Where are people going for their hosts and heatsinks? Or is this just a...
Yeah. I figure that price should move it out. It will give someone the opportunity to change out the diode to several different options for less than they could buy most kits for.
Thanks for the advice. I thought my location was in my profile. I’ve been a member of this site for years, so I...
Yes. They are very cool. The crystal structure you get after they’ve been etched is awesome, and when lined with carbon fiber, they are very light and comfortable to wear.
Absolutely. I’ve got the heat sink thing pretty much down, now it’s time to move on to a custom host or two! :)
That one is also made out of meteorite. The spot on its surface is an area of its natural surface crust that I intentionally kept. It went quite deep, so it was perfect to do an inlay. The green stuff is several malachite crystals that I inlayed with resin. They polished up great and look very...
Thanks! Yes, it’s very nice! I originally bought it to make my own wedding band out of meteorite. Here are a couple rings I’ve made recently, if you’re in to that kind of thing :) the one with the turquoise inlay actually glows an aqua color in the dark.
I have a metal lathe, so I decided to make a few lasers heat sinks. Here is one I just finished last night. It’s copper and has good mass to it. The host is an S2, and is really high quality, and the blue/grey color is amazing. The oclaro 700mW diode is driven by a survival laser driver with...
