Making my first laser! Think I got it how does it look?

Rethink your priorities and hold off on building the laser if you don't have enough money for goggles. I was in the same predicament several months ago, I really wanted to build a 445nm laser but my funds couldn't support building the laser and buying goggles. I waited for my next paycheck and...

    Laser humor ..

I told my physics teacher this one a while ago. "I was going to build a new laser last night, but I was far too incoherent "

[Pic Heavy] 250mA 16x SOC Fan-Cooled Budget Build

Those beam shots! Great work on the project box. Do you have anything holding the aixiz module in the box or is it just press fit?

    Physics teacher needing your advice

If you don't mind me asking, what state do you teach in? I'm just curious because here in New York we've had HUGE budget cuts that have resulted in my class room sizes to go from ~27 in a class to in some classes having 35 kids in a class. My sister is also a teacher here in New York and she has...

    iPad 3!

I was totally against the whole idea of the iPad until this past Christmas when my mom got my dad one. I didn't like the idea of him getting one at all. I figured it was way too expensive for a Christmas gift and he'd never use it. Against my opinion, my mother bought my dad an iPad 2. He LOVES...

    X-Drive From Lazeerer

Very nice design! I'm amazed how it can run at 1.9A and not need any heat sinking! Any word on the price yet? It's good to see that you're trying to make it much cheaper than FlexDrives, the price of them really puts me off on building any one cell builds. Good luck and keep us updated!

    2014 BMW + Laser = best headlight

Yes. My car is a 2004 BMW and it has safety features not even found on some brand new cars. Like if I'm driving along and the weather is 37degrees F and the car senses water on the road my car will beep several time to let me know that the roads might be icy. And that's an 8 year old car. I...

Survival Laser 445nm Kit Problem... (SOLVED)

Re: Survival Laser 445nm Kit Problem... I couldn't agree more, I was expecting an email at most and he personally called me. Less than 12 hours from when I first sent the email. Gary completely has my business from now on. A great guy who goes out of his way to help out a customer. When the...

    Driver for 2xAA batteries suply

Boost drivers can be DIY'ed but are much more difficult and require many more components than a typical linear regulator. Your best bet would be to buy a Flex Drive or other boost driver.

    Driver for 2xAA batteries suply

You're either going to need a boost driver or replace your AA batteries with 14500 lithium ion cells. 14500 cells are the same size as a AA battery and are 3.6 volts so combined you will have 7.2 volts which is plenty for a LM317 driver powering a red diode.

Survival Laser 445nm Kit Problem... (SOLVED)

Re: Survival Laser 445nm Kit Problem... It situation was resolved with flying colors. I can't thank Gary enough for not only getting back to me but personally calling me on a federal holiday to resolve the problem. Survival Laser has my business for sure!

Survival Laser 445nm Kit Problem... (SOLVED)

Hello all, about 2 weeks ago I bit the bullet on finally building a 445nm laser. I bought the Survival Laser 445nm DIY Kit along with a 445nm diode. Once it all arrived I began to all assemble it, but upon inspection the two wires coming from the pill were extremely frail, they almost seemed dry...

    2014 BMW + Laser = best headlight

Higher power? Yes. Cheap? Not even close. After owning a BMW for a little over 6 months I can safely say that OEM parts are NOT cheap. Replacement headlight units like these will easily be several thousand dollars.

    2014 BMW + Laser = best headlight

I'm pretty sure BMW has put in many safety precautions into this design. I have a 2004 325xi and I was in a very small fender bender (5 or 10mph to a stationary car (Icy roads)) a few months ago. When the cars hit, my car turned the engine off and turned the hazard lights on automatically. Now...
