Look at the pictures that Red Cowboy posted. The "module" in these types of lasers is "pressed" into the host. There is nowhere to "open" it. You can **sometimes** grasp the end and wiggle it free, but you run the risk of messing up the alignment or simply breaking it. You usually CANNOT...
In reality, nothing had to have "happened to" the laser for it to fail. It does not necessarily require a bump or drop. Sometimes the temperature just reaches a tipping point. Sometimes it is simply that it has heated up enough times for something to shift. Often, there is no one to blame but...
It sounds like a contact issue. First make sure all of the contact surfaces are clean and free of any "coatings." This includes any springs and the threading for the tail cap. Make sure the switch is secure in the tail cap (it shouldn't move around ;) ).
It could also be that the new...
These are cheap and easily obtainable via eBay, DX, etc.
Also, if you are going to be hunting critters, there are better options to use than a laser ;)
Yeah. When he was building these, he was originally only making single 18650 hosts. I talked him into making this host for me to use 2 x 18650's to power the "new" 9mm 445nm diodes

AFAIK, his shop is no longer making them
I think that his son was going to continue, but I...
Thank you. I'm only 27 in my mind ;)
I don't post much any more
We agree on a great many things. It is just that we only spend time and energy speaking about things that we differ on ;)
I'm always "around". About all I do now is moderating duties in the background :tinfoil:
There is a "W"...
Re: M-140 Diodes $30 ea; A-140 Diodes $20 ea
I do have a few Aixiz type modules here, but the diodes are gone now.
If you only need some modules, let me know. I'll hook you up
Sorry someone got in ahead of you in PM
Peace,
dave
Re: M-140 Diodes $30 ea; A-140 Diodes $20 ea
These are brand new. I removed them from a new projector myself
Jordan just took the complete projector. I have plenty of these still left. I got busy with house stuff. I haven't dug through the safe again yet looking for other stuff
Sure...
Re: New Projector; M-140 Diodes; A-140 Diodes
LOL! Yeah. I'm getting to be like Igor T. Sometimes I just "disappear" for awhile.
I blame the aliens.
Time dilation between dimensions, is something we haven't gotten under control yet :P
