You could try putting a small magnet at the bottom of the battery compartment so it makes better contact. My green has issues as well, but I just use the battery end from my 405 and it works fine.
I managed to get the cap off the end of my blue laser and adjusted the focus a bit. It can burn any dark material pretty easily. I haven't tried matches yet.
I bought some 800mAh Duracell rechargeables at wal-mart yesterday and they seem to work pretty well (better than alkalines). Not sure...
I received my lasers last night. Both greens are pretty bright, well over 5mW with good divergence. One is at least 10mW more powerful than the other. Same with the blues. Well over 5mW, and one is noticeably brighter than the other (10mW+). Shipping wasn't too bad. It took about 3 1/2...
Thanks for the update, Dave. My best wishes go out to Glenn and his family.
Once we get word from Glenn and everything has been sorted out I might have to participate in this GB. It's been too long since I last harnessed the power of a laser lol.
No, unfortunately they are not the same. You could always use a really long ethernet cable in lieu of the wireless adapter. 100 feet is like $8 on Monoprice. The only issue is routing that cable to the basement.
Got mine a couple days ago. Works great. The LED is much easier to swap out than I thought. Just wondering, what kind of batteries does this thing take?
Just so you [potential buyers] know: the blue LED seems a bit brighter than the white. Just take that into consideration when you are...
Put me down for a pewter flashlight with a blue LED (like the one you pictured above). Just shoot me a PM or something with your PayPal info and I'll send you the $12.
Thanks!
Okay, well once you get all of your LEDs and stuff, I'd be willing to pay for a full kit. Will you be offering different colored LEDs as well? If so, I'll take a pewter flashlight with a blue LED. If not, I'll still take a black one.
Those look really cool! I'd definitely be up for buying one (if the price is right, of course). Would I be able to just buy a fully modded flashlight from you or would I have to buy my own and then buy your kit? Either way is fine with me.
Don't count on it arriving by then. Even if he submitted the order today, the bank transfer takes some 5 days, it takes them at least two weeks to process and manufacture the order, and another week to ship (including them preparing the shipment, not just transit time), then another 2-5 days...
re: CNI GB
Well, my 50mW is gone. What a drag. I was pretty heated when I found out it had slipped through a hole (that I was totally unaware of) in my pocket last night. I rushed home, got a flashlight and scoped the entire place out, but couldn't find it. I came back at 6am and still...

x2
He responded promptly whenever I had a question. He also shipped my laser pretty much as soon as he got it, and I got it 2 days later. He really does go above and beyond to serve fellow LPF members.
re: CNI GB
I really want one, but I don't have enough money to spend because I really need to keep saving. I need to break the habit of spending my paycheck within a week of getting it. Once I pick up more hours at work (which should happen next week), I'll probably get one lol. The beam...
re: CNI GB
You will be more than satisfied. I got my 50mW pen from the previous round in this GB and I can light matches, etc. (from about 2 feet away with fresh batteries, un-sharpied).
