For years we've had high voltage coils in CRTs and cars THAT COULD KILL YOU. Unlike a laser diode that at worst could blind you. Yup, that's a feature of the laser diode. My Yobresal 1W has that effect going in the positive and negative Y axis, symmetrical about the axis.

A smoke machine and 50mW 532nm green laser will have a brighter beam than a clean room and 300mW 532nm beam. You won't see much difference going from 200mW to 300mW but it will cost a lot more.

The laser's output is supposed to be between 1 Watt and 1.2 Watts. I don't know why anyone would expect it to be exactly 1200mw. Just under 1 watt would be acceptable to me anyway. Strange goings on I find are that the Juice brand batteries supplied with the laser are measuring 4.17 and 4.20 V...

I may not have one but I believe Yobresal's stated 1-1.2W claim. He built this particular laser. My Lasercheck measures it at 939mW, I measured the current at 860mA. Batteries might not be at full charge though, so I'll be testing again once I charge them all the way. Just got this laser 2 days...
