Sanwu Challenger II 488nm beam shots 150mw

An interesting phenomena that I've noticed is how the beam does seem to terminate suddenly at some given distance as it appears to the naked eye. Maybe it's how our limited ability to discern spatial detail on something as small and precise as a long skinny beam and point of light, distorts our...

    Just a 635nm Striker/Saber beamshot

Just received a couple of tritium vials that I purchased from Sanwu... This particular laser configuration comes with seven little slots you insert the vials into. These are the blue ones

    Just a 635nm Striker/Saber beamshot

Actually, I've started liking running mine without the beam expander. The sharp red line at distance is kinda weirdly nice. I couldn't imagine two or three beams though... But the big nasty line instead of spot is ok as long as it's sharp and not blurred. I like the Challenger II host also...

    Just a 635nm Striker/Saber beamshot

I'm guessing the ML501P73 is what's used in this Striker laser also? .. I wonder why this larger host is described as 635nm @1W, while they have another model red one that's just a little smaller but *638nm* @1W.. Why the 3nm difference unless they are different diodes? Heat levels maybe?

    Just a 635nm Striker/Saber beamshot

Here it is at full power.. But still brighter in person

    Just a 635nm Striker/Saber beamshot

Yeah, I see that double beam in the photo now after the fact. But no, it wasn't like that when I shot it. I think it's just at that exact instance, the spot was moving across two reflective spots at the same time right around there. With that beam expander, the beam really tightens up at...

    Just a 635nm Striker/Saber beamshot

So, I received my lovely 1 watt Sanwu 635nm(bright red) Striker/Saber today! Really nice jewel of a red laser. This one has the magnetic dimmer switch and magnetic mode ring. This is my first actual red handheld laser beyond just the ole' cat pointer that still actually works. The power is...

Sanwu Challenger II 488nm beam shots 150mw

Yeah it's amazing how much fun you can have with just 150mw of 488nm and a 3x beam expander. It's just bright enough to give you all the blue beam wow at night, but not so powerful as to make you paranoid that you're drawing attention from folks merging onto a nearby highway

    Sanwu question

Well, if that's the case that the extra $50 equals no more than 2-3 business days production to shipment, then somebody owes me a whole lot of money!! I've always paid extra for the upgrade in shipping

    Sanwu question

Did you ever receive your orders? I'm still waiting on mine as well.. Like, from way back in early February.. Kinda sucks not knowing what's going on. If there's a huge delay, I can understand. I'll wait as long as I know that something will be sent... Eventually... But really the fear is that...

Getting worried about my Jet Lasers order.

Yeah the Dhl/Fedex is the upgrade. As far as I know there was a cheaper option, but the last time I used that cheap one it seemed like it took a month before I got it. And also Gray, the guy at Jetlaser said that Dhl is better because it's a more smooth and efficient shipping preocess across...

Getting worried about my Jet Lasers order.

The star caps that come with the Sanwu lasers are metal for sure. The element that filters the light, I'm not sure, but it looks like a type of glass. I have a 5 watt blue 445nm laser that those caps came with, but, yeah, I wouldn't want to put them on it. I have messed up a 4 watt 465nm laser...

Getting worried about my Jet Lasers order.

I've bought many lasers from them. They're legit. One thing to take note of is that they don't have a huge "warehouse" of lasers that they box up for shipment the next day. They actually hand build these things per order. So it will take at least a week before they ship it out to you. It works...

    Another Arcane story

Dude got me for $98 .. The refund period had expired because I kept letting him buy more time. At first it was back and forth email tag with "sorry, it's taking so long, yours will be sent first thing tomorrow! I promise! Here's your fake tracking number___" strung me out for months.$98 Lesson...

    N465 diode?

A while ago, when this diode(N465)(Nichia? )came out, it was thought to be the next thing beyond the NUBM07E in laser hobbyist terms. I followed all the threads and the exhaustive research about how the high powered blue open canned diodes don't like life that much and eventually die a...

Sanwu Challenger II 488nm beam shots 150mw

Here's another look at the color.. This top one actually looks like true 488nm, lol! The camera is really struggling with this wavelength apparently. The beam is way more beautiful and complex in person. But mind you, this visibility in a fully lit room is only possible because of the smoke at...

Sanwu Challenger II 488nm beam shots 150mw

The most recent ones were on a full battery.. The earlier pics were when it was about 1/4 charge left.. However, the latest ones I'm looking at the beam and then looking at the screen and the actual beam to my eye was more aqua(greener) than what I saw on the camera screen. However in the...
