First 445 Build worked..but now it doesnt??

Awesome! ... glad your diode is not dead. Sounds like the driver might be ok, Ill still check it to make sure and try to get it back in the mail the same day I get it.

The Improved and the Greatly Improved Arctic Mod

Its about a $20 premium to have good IMR cells that wont blow up on you and not have to wait a month for the stuff to arrive from China. There are other cheaper chargers @ lighthound, but the one I linked to can handle all the different cells sizes. Here is a cheaper one...

    MIC29312 based linear driver

I deleted it because what I had posted was wrong. I though V- and GND were still common, and they are not.

    FS: Jibs Linear Drivers

Re: FS: LM1117 Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed I don't make much at all, not nearly enough to cover the time I spend building them. Laying down 100's of tiny solder paste blobs with a syringe is a pain in the you know where. Ill be converting an IR toaster oven into an Arduino controlled reflow oven...

    FS: Jibs Linear Drivers

Re: FS: LM1117 Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed For those of you that wanted more than the limit, the initial wave has died down enough to lift the restriction. I have 28 LM1117(1.3A) and 16 LD1085(1.8A) left in stock. I have 108 LM1117 and 72 LD1085 PCBs coming this week. :)

Re: FS: LM1117 Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed The IC has internal protection for heat and over-current, so it should have been ok. If its not putting anything out it could be a bad IC. Send it back to me and Ill check it out. PM sent.

    FS: Jibs Linear Drivers

Re: FS: LM1117 Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed Yes you could do that. You could also put like a 10K across the dummy load's LD+/-, this prevents leaving the cap charged. Just have to account for the additional current draw, but @ 10kOhm its going to be less than 1mA.

    FS: Jibs Linear Drivers

Re: FS: LM1117 Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed Yup always discharge the cap ... they may be small but they are 10uf's and they hold enough of a charge to zap these diodes without a problem.

Re: FS: LM1117 Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed Do you have a dummy load?
  17. jib77

    MIC29312 based linear driver

What is you Vin? What is you dummy load Vfw? Also nominal Vref for this chip is 1.24V, but that doesn't explain the problem here nor does it make a significant difference in the calculation(539mA). Its either starving for voltage or going into thermal shutdown ... you may not have enough...

The SimpleDrive2 - Very easy to set! Now with a feeler!

    I did a test a few days ago with a LM1117 driver setup for 430mA with a 3V dummy load @ single li-ion voltages with a 2A(Max) bench PSU. I imagine this driver will have similar response: 4.2V = 430mA 4.1V = 420mA 4.0V = 410mA 3.9V = 400mA 3.8V = 380mA 3.7V = 360mA, really starts dropping after...

    FS: Jibs Linear Drivers

Re: FS: LM1117 Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed I have a fixed value buck/boost driver design but the parts are too expensive to make any significant quantities and its difficult to build by hand. I would have to charge a lot more than what other buck/boost drivers go for. :( Bluuray is correct, it...
