I just bought a green laser and then found out that USA has restictions...

I thought you knew that when you asked if you needed one. A green laser pointer basically outputs two kinds of light; visible green, and invisible IR. The IR slowly diverges from the green beam, and IR can go through goggles. All a filter does is eliminate the invisible light. If you are in a...

Kershaw Blur S30V for $80, any better recommendations?

Have you ever used a system like the Spyderco Sharpmaker? They completely sharpen the knife, and all you really need to do is hold the knife straight up and down. I've never actually had a blade professionally sharpened, but I've never needed to.

Kershaw Blur S30V for $80, any better recommendations?

I didn't know the warranty was lifetime! That's great. And I see what you mean, 440/420 is pretty terrible, though about as stainless as you can get.

Kershaw Blur S30V for $80, any better recommendations?

14C28N is a good steel. But yeah the Blur would definitely be better for you. Just curious what was that other steel, and how did it not 'hold up'? You're gonna love it. I wrote a bit more and some pictures in this thread: http://laserpointerforums.com/f57/cool-knife-48768-7.html#post802097

An IR filter isn't necessary unless you're pointing the laser near your head, because the IR stays collimated with the green pretty well. If you're going to be messing with reflections, and you know the laser beam will likely hit your eyes, definitely get a filter.

Kershaw Blur S30V for $80, any better recommendations?

Kershaw is probably my favorite <$100 knife company. I have the Breakout auto ($75 for black, $67 for normal silver), which uses Sandvik 14C28N steel, and it's great. It does have aluminum grip, but the entire thing is really slim. If you need a knife for heavy use I wouldn't recommend it, but...

    dropping laser pointers

As has been stated earlier in this thread already, you don't have to worry about the blu as much. It's the DPSS alignment in greens that gets messed up.

    dropping laser pointers

It was either the Amazon or the Ebay one. Just your typical Chinese new wish style pointer.

    dropping laser pointers

For a green pen, a 1 foot drop onto a hard surface has a definite chance of destroying it. I speak from experience...

Funny video on facebook, person doesn't believe the Spartan can burn.

It looked to me like he made it pretty clear she would get burned, she just didn't believe it, LOL. This video is hilarious.

How does this Guy do this?

This is the part that made me think it was a mirror. Thanks for the frames, it seems pretty clear now he was using pointers.

How does this Guy do this?

I still think there are mirrors, especially at 0:18. Either way, they did a really good job.

    Cool Knife.

That looks great Stridast! Excellent work.

How does this Guy do this?

I'd guess exactly the same thing. Definitely mirrors on his palms and a projector. I really have no idea how he picked it up, but holding small pointers is best I can come up with.

    Cool Knife.

That's better. But still, I don't think I would ever buy a knife to look at. 150 bucks is about my limit! Although I still can't get over how amazing that looks. Who knows, maybe one day I'll cave.
