    high tech dealz down?

https://hightechdealz.com/ Anyone else been having issues with the site as of late? I try to order something and it never comes to a payment screen. I even get a confirmation of my order via email but I never had a chance to enter payment information. Either the respected seller is going to...

4W Blue Diode Coming! Single Mode Too !!

your evil! :tsk: Is this just a troll thread at this point? =P If that pic is true that laser is more powerful then wannaburn's almighty 3.5W handheld?

Whoa wait... 4W diode? anyone meter one of these yet?

    Laser Tripwire Project

Nice Laserbee! Found out my main issue was using the driver that came with the LED from high tech dealz. Removed the driver and put a 100ohm resistor in series with the LD. Pwmed it at 37khz 4% duty cycle. Got about a 600uA total current draw. Signal was much more weak on the receiving side...

    Laser Tripwire Project

I'm actually finding it rather hard to get a low power PWM circuit that has a net current save. Using a low power 555 and a low power lm339. I think the trick is to use a BJT for starters when driving. Even though a bjt requires current through the base, the current amount needed to keep the bjt...

    Laser Tripwire Project

Shinning a laser at a LED works pretty darn well for speed. Alot better than a photosensitive resistor. In addition, the signal is decently large to begin with. Tried it out tonight. I used the cheapie 3usd laser from hightech dealz. surprisingly it was able to PWM rather decently with the...

    3dsmax gun render

w00t! Love 3d stuff!!!!!! My stuff is abit more artsy and less practical as a laser host design. I'm a fan of Vue7. Wireframs were imported then I textured and rendered in a scene. http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs32/f/2008/221/5/b/In_Search_Of_Earth_by_Superiorgamer.jpg i'd love to do...

Where in the World is Steviedezie - Help Us Find Him

You guys know hes probably reading this right? :na: Kinda doubt hes still in the US? You could always try tracking the people who have been viewing this thread. It would be a needle in a haystack but... hey, i'd be a start.

Selfmade 3-mode 2W blue Laser"pointer" in customized solarforce body

Awww 15 year old cpu heatsink? =( Been looking for a good cheap heatsink out there. That thing looks pretty nice! Nice laser dude. ;) Nice job on doing most of it from scratch. Alot more then i'll ever do! If you want to power a 2W with 2 18650s just use a high power LDO, they work fine. No...

    Most powerfull custom?

the "hotlight" isn't really a laser. Its just a bright colored flashlight. the 445nm is the most powerful handheld laser diode out there practically speaking. odds of a random driver working are small =P There lots of cheap voltage drivers out there but you need current. Also a "LED" driver...

    sony NEXELION : first 18650 TRUE 3500mah!!!

define true 3.5A hr batteries...? My friend has a set of 4A hr batteries... they work as advertised? are you referring to peak continuous current?

    Most powerfull custom?

If you want a portable laser your not going to get it under 100 easily. Most easy powerful portable is the 445nm. If you alraedy built one your at the end of the easy line. 445nm 1w blue+module ~= 45usd? jib linear at 1.6A ~=13usd I think? Glass lens = 15usd? Then makeshift a host that...

FS J.BAUER Electronics LaserBee 2.5 Watt USB only + Data Logging.. In Stock Now

Re: J.BAUER Electronics LaserBee 2.5 Watt USB only + Data Logging $129.99.. In Stock Thanks Laserbee, got mine and it works. Looks like you went cheapish on the TEC(guessing around 10-15usd?) but you bought a more expensive-ish (2usd +) heat-sink. Tis fun to speculate. :) Nice product you built...

    Pyro banned WTF!?

Competition is good... it makes it so we all can enjoy the hobby as opposed to only those who have enough money (or an incredible amount of time+brains). I most certainly wouldn't have been able to get into the hobby had it not been for competition. Lava may charge 2x(23) to power a 445nm...

Test Load Diagram's for all laser diodes!

Well... that would make alot more sense if that was the case. Hmm...my simulation software has been throwing me off and I'm still new to laser diodes so are probably correct. I was under the impression that direct driving would kill it but that idea never made sense to me. However, something...

Test Load Diagram's for all laser diodes!

within reason isn't exactly a fair statement for the drivers that are most commonly used here. Many boost drivers and or linear supplies are rated for a max current such as 1.5A ..ect but that doesn't mean they can maintain the Vmax at that current. Its critical that you ensure that both your...

Where to buy a >2 watt laser diode on the cheap?

So pointers and IR aside... there isn't a easy way to get above 3W with colored lasers even in a lab setting? Anyone ever experiment much with etching diodes?

    Best laptop manufacturer

not dell....(instant death machiens) ...and not HP (bloatware beyond your wildest dreams) asus maybe? I'm not very impressed with laptops. Been waiting about 4 years to buy one and the stats really haven't gone up all that much.

    What a Noob

Try a 65W+ gas laser... that might work. =P Or just soak them in gas first and then shine them =P :cryyy::cryyy::cryyy::cryyy::cryyy: Is the magazine alright? Poor thing...
