    Drivers for 445

Why do you want to run that supply if you are running a current that a Microboost can easily handle? I am using a buck converter because I'm going to be running over 1.5 amps and don't want to deal with adjustment of two drivers. If you want 1A, use a DrLava driver.

    Drivers for 445

No, I am modifying a single 18650 host to take two 18350s. I turn the switch button aluminum retaining ring down a few MM, as well as file on the switch itself to shorten the body. It is a very close fit. Of course, if you aren't concerned about every last bit of capacity, two RCR123s could be...

    4th of July Pyrotechics

Anybody make their own fireworks/pyrotechnics? In a few days I am going to mix up some 2" cylindrical canister shots to shoot from the mortar. I'll probably just use a nice flash composition to give you something to feel. I might launch a few way up there which are stabilized like a rocket. I...

You all must check this. Amazing.

The transmission is realtime. I.E. Lag-less I use a 2 watt amateur television transmitter in the 900MHz range to view my targets when I am shooting at 500 yards or more. I built a nice transmission system for this task because you cannot see holes that far with optics. I can pull the trigger...

    UPDATE -- 445nm Pen Laser -- UPDATE

Thanks for further explaining your laser, Dave. ;)

    Drivers for 445

Jay, The Shark Buck can handle a large range of forward voltage. Here is what Wayne the designer mentioned about voltage output: "As long as Vin is higher than Vout you can use multiple LEDs in series on the output as long as the total Vf is less than the input voltage." So our laser diodes...

    Drivers for 445

The Shark Buck 2A adjustable driver arrived today. It is capable of 3A with a different resistor, but that shouldn't be needed. Jay's copper module arrived today also. I am waiting for my diode removal tool to show up before I test the driver, because I do not want to push the 445nm diode that...

Has anyone ever bought anything from Gadget Town?

Well, last night I ordered 5 different 532nm lasers from three different sources to do a comparison. I've spent more than I wanted already and there's still plenty more stores with "too good to be true" deals. The only problem is, it's hard to believe *some* things are too good to be true...

    UPDATE -- 445nm Pen Laser -- UPDATE

That's a cool idea. I am interested myself in trying that. Dave, Could you give us an idea of how long your laser lasts on one fully charged 10440? Does output ramp down from the beginning of the battery charge, or does the output remain virtually constant until the battery gets near the end...

    Drivers for 445

The drawing is correct. That is how two drivers are run in parallel. You would want to parallel the wires at some other point than the diode, presumably. I say this because it should be easier for you to 'Y' the wires closer to the driver, than to have 4 wire ends soldered at the diode...

    Shaping the 445nm Beam

Please. That video doesn't show us much of anything scientific, and this thread is not for Arctic fans to come and express themselves. Jay's photo shows that a simple aperture can disguise a beam for a photo. It works, but doesn't suit the topic where lenses are of concern.

    FS: Laserbee I Deluxe

He's merely hoping his nagging will somehow make items he needs enter his price range. I see it a bit too often.

    FS: Laserbee I Deluxe

Why are lasers so expensive? All they do is produce light.

    FS: Laserbee I Deluxe

Sorry kiddies, this meter isn't going to "hit the 100s". Stick to burning electrical tape for your crude means of power measurement. It is precision equipment, and the only reason I am selling this meter is so that I can buy a meter that is more expensive than this one.

    Purchasing crystal sets

So this far along in the game, we still don't have the 532nm laser under our control? It just seems like we should be building our own 532nm lasers after years and years have gone by since they hit the market. We are still pot modding and fiddling with their dinky crystals. I'm sorry, but that...

Has anyone ever bought anything from Gadget Town?

Any updates to this question? Anyone else ever get a 532nm from Gadgettown? They have "100mW" lasers under $30. I doubt that's possible. If it was true, I would be all over some of them.

    Purchasing crystal sets

It was just an idea to use a possibly more efficient crystal set and crank the pump diode up. I was told some of the sets that are in the cheapest of 5mW pointers are capable of 75mW or more with the pump turned up. I assumed if a cheap source of crystals was around, it would make more sense to...

    Purchasing crystal sets

Where is a good place to find bonded crystal sets from? I would like to replace the small ones found in 5mW pens with larger sets.
