    My Star Trek Phaser Mod

Well I guess I misread your post about the capacitors. That sounds really cool.It looks like the gun will be a pleasure to fire. Also 240mW sounds enough to have some fun shooting balloons lol :D For maximum visibility you should go for green, but 240mW modules are pretty expensive(not really...

    this guy...

Every 5 seconds he spits out something wrong lol! When dealing with green lasers there are indeed 2 kinds of "harmful" light you need to worry about, but none of them is UV. So let's see: UV from green lasers green laser diodes "this measures the miliwatts that come out of a laser" using a...

    20mw blue laser for 50$??

    It's pretty purple anyway:whistle:

    OMFG! "Cancer ray"!!!!

    About this thread.

    stinging power

He probably meant focused to infinity , as in collimated for lowest divergence.

    My Star Trek Phaser Mod

He wants the beams to be parallel not really combine them.He also wants recollimation by shaping the end of the fiber optic like a lens instead of adding an additional lens, which is probably gonna minimize power loss too. Btw I think that by "converge" you want to say "intersect". Btw...

    Owned!

The helicopter was really in no danger....but that guy shouldn't of messed with it anyway.I mean, anyway you think of it , it's an act of utter stupidity. Those cameras are pretty expensive though...even older generations. I saw one on a site a while ago that was the size of a larger camera...

    Hmm.......upgrading a 100mW laser?

Yes. You swap out the 5mW module for a 100mW module, that's the only way you are actually "upgrading" it. Then, you swap out the 100mW module for an even more powerful module!:undecided:

WHAT is the best color for burning capability???

More like blackbody radiation. It's being emitted by any matter with a temperature.Well not exactly 10.6um , but a wider range like 8 - 14um or something like that. And can be a way of transfering heat between two objects not in contact and in a vacuum. Btw, doesn't it get reflected by polished...

So just how visible are lasers from a distance?

But how would you go about doing such tests? Maybe with a good camera with fixed settings, at night in a spot with no ambient lighting.

    445nm blue diodes

I so want that color!!! But I guess I'll just wait a year and a half or so cause there's no hope for me now :( But I'm glad to know those are around and so affordable already :D

How exactly does eye damage from lasers look like?

Laser eye damage looks like A TON OF BLOOD POURING FROM YOUR EYES OMG!!!1 I'm bored lol

WHAT is the best color for burning capability???

Well the part in red didn't really sound like science....like for instance what is a laser's strength, what do you measure it in? Since a 100mW bluray is "stronger" than a 100mW red laser I'd guess that the physical measure of "strength" is different from that of power or energy.

anyone got pics/vids of 405nm bluray lasers around 30mw?

That makes sense since monitors can't go as low as 405nm.The shortest wavelength they have is blue from the RBG.The closest you could get is with the right combination of red and blue. But for some reason cameras just forget the red and go only for blue. :undecided: Lol iskor, I like how you...

WOW that wave effect was neat! And the hexagonal tunnel. I wish I could see that thing live :(

    Donation Goal

You should give at least 5 percent of your most expensive laser's price :D
  19. Switch

    thanks!!

I made a small donation too, but still 39% on the bar....then again I'm not sure if I had any money on the card, just thought that if it was empty it wouldn't go through with it :undecided:

    Hello,a few questions.

The 405nm is violet, and it is so described on the CNI site. The 445nm would be more of an indigo(which CNI calls "violet-blue")... You can't have a purple monochromatic laser with a single purple line because purple is composed out of 2 colors: red and blue, like I said before...
