    Soldering Iron wanted!

Oh man, I gotta try some of that Cardas solder. Off to ebay :D Edit: I found a seller who sells a few selection of what seems to be premium quality solders. Which brand would you choose? Link to the ebay store.

    Good 500mW Laser

What are you talking about? I can build a 445nm that could hit 2W for under $150.

    Soldering Iron wanted!

The iron itself is similar to the original Hakko but take note that the plug that goes to the base unit is different. Genuine Hakko tips should fit. I have a T18 series chisel tip in the mail for my station.

Vanilla ~1W 445nm Blue Laser video tutorial

If you read the thread title, it says 445nm. The driver from DX and the one you linked are the same. You can get the glasses you need from Survival Lasers as well. Look for the one rated for 190-540nm. Just be aware that these won't work for reds. Testing a driver before connecting to a diode...

    Soldering Iron wanted!

There are a bunch of clones out there. The popular ones are branded as Aoyue, Huakko, Atten, Yihua, etc. The Yihua seems to be the most popular. It's available at Hobbyking for a little more than $15. I can't help myself. I just bought one :p it should do just fine for the moment.

    Soldering Iron wanted!

Oh look, my 1000th post. Meh, no big deal. ************************** The FX-888/D is a bit too expensive right now and I need something I could use right now. I can still get a Hakko 936 shipped for under $100 from ebay. BUT, there are also a lot of clones out there that are dirt cheap...

Gamer Thread: What are your games?

I only game on PC. I mostly play shooter games. I wish I could go online but my Internet speed is total crap. Right now I'm playing AC Black Flag. It's a nice game but it's flaws are very apparent, IMO. One of my favorite series is Splinter Cell. It really suits my taste. :p

    Soldering Iron wanted!

I'm no cat :p A while back, a friend of mine had this spool of Kester solder that was made back in '98 that he was about to throw away. I got it from him and when I tried it, the smell was unexplainable, it was like ass. It's probable 60/40 because it has this pasty stage that's why...

    Soldering Iron wanted!

What brand of solder do you use? I was planning to buy a spool of Kester brand solder but man, they are expensive. I don't even have enough money right now to buy the FX-888D :p So I thought I'd just grab one from Fasttech along with other stuff. I'm going to get the one called "Telecore...

    Soldering Iron wanted!

Ah, just went to Hakko's site and it says that the T18 tips are compatible with lead-free solder. So I'm guessing it will work with both lead-free and leaded solder.

    Soldering Iron wanted!

I was browsing ebay for the tips. I found genuine Hakko tips and its says that the tip is coated with lead-free solder. Can I use lead solder with this tip or not? 1pc of T18 D24 Soldering Tips Hakko Made in Japan Original Pack | eBay
