If bass is a priority like it is for me, you'll like Radius Earphones. I find it hard to get good bass in earbuds these days without spending upwards of $100, so I was very pleased with these. However if you prefer a lot of mid-range, move along..... ;)

You make it sound like you want to communicate with UFO's by lasing them with 2.3W's. Lasers are serious. Especially at the power levels your talking about. Not a good choice as a 1st laser. Get your feet wet first. Once you see what 150mW of green looks like, you'll be hooked. And forget about...

Think about working your way up to 1W since this will be your first "proper" laser. My 1st laser was less than 100mW. Get familiar with higher power lasers and how they behave. They can be unforgiving. You'll be less likely to make a "mistake" when you start venturing into the 1W or more...

Since you prefer lower power then I would recommend 50mW. You'll see the beam clearly at night. As far as quality sources, I recommend Optotronics as an example. But there are plenty of others. Just take a look through the "Companies" section. There's also some less expensive sellers like...

Check out the eye charts that Things mentioned. If your still worried you can always go see your eye doctor. Just because it was ~100mW doesn't mean you definitely received damage, but you need an expert to tell you that.

I remember reading that T_J received some permanent eye damage from a 15-20mW green pointer once. I believe he got a direct hit. A 100mW direct hit is fully capable of causing permanent damage. But there are many factors involved.
