Awesome mod! I've seen this done before. I might recommend just hard wiring across the driver board switch so you don't have glue residue stuck to it afterwards and so you know it will keep the contact. Maybe even wire it to a toggle on the outside of the gun as an extra safety feature. ;)

The pelican case like I use originally had "pluck foam" where it has small perforated cubes that you could pluck right out to make it the size you needed. I think the cost of the case with foam was about $35 though.

I looked at this before but brushed it off at first but this is really cool! I'm 'hoping' to get a HeNe soon myself (auction ends in about 10 hours). So I'm curious, where did you get your PSU and about how much was it? And by the looks of things I bet it is heavy. Have you attempted to weigh it...
