Thank you for following my suggestion and measuring the IR output. 33% IR is a little bit too much... Acceptable for such a very cheap laser. I have a green that costed me $32 and has 80mW total output, with 22mW (28%) IR. I also think it's too much. This laser can now be bought for $26 @priceangels

I'm curious to know the IR amount. If you don't have an IR filter, try putting 532nm goggles between the laser and the LPM to measure the IR leakage.

There are very similar units in that new website... ahn... price angel, price angels, something like that. I don't know if they ship to the US but you can check !

You just have to unscrew, as you were focusing it to burn. It'll become hard to unscrew. You have to use a little more strengh and it'll come out. =)

It's the best beginner's laser. It was my first laser and I don't regret. It's pen price, but in a very good solid host and overspec module.

You have to rotate it, like when you focus it to burn. When you reach the limit, you have to apply a little more strength and you'll be able to remove it. I did it.

I've never had any kinds of problem with my unit. Maybe just bad luck =(

There's an interesting test you should do. It reveals the only con I found about the laser. Put a IR filter between the laser and the meter, or good certified anti-green goggles to try to measure the IR output. It's a good overspec laser, but IR seems to be too high. Anyway, it's worth. I have...

Actually, you can have much higher temp drops with AS5. I myself experienced a 11°C drop from my stock thermal paste, to a good applied AS5 with my old P4.
