Can anyone ID this laser pointer?

I can tell you right now it's not near 300mw. Sounds like the manufacturer did a terrible job of focusing it. You'll have to take that from cap off. Then with the laser facing you(without batteries) turn the lens assembly counter clockwise a little bit at a time, and test it after doing this...

Farthest your laser has gone for sure?

Look up videos on youtube of long distance pointing, and that'll give you an idea of what it will look like.

Farthest your laser has gone for sure?

Absolutely. You usually can't see more than 10 miles unless you're up on a hill, or your target is. I could barely see my 100mw green at three miles through a 5 inch telescope. Hope you have alot of power, and a beam expander ;). Actually I just looked it up. If you're standing on the shore...

    RF660-200mW-FBT Review

Greasing o-rings actually helps it be more water-proof. Keeps the o-rings nice and rubbery, and grease, or oil repels water. I use rem-oil.

    Blue/Violet laser things.

You're completly wrong there. It's on the boundary between UV, and violet. It is nowhere close to blue, but yes, violet-ray sounds dumb lol.

    445nm Lens Comparisons!

Re: 445nm A130 Lens Comparisons! Will you be selling some Jay, or should I talk to Len?

    Blue/Violet laser things.

For the most part yes, but not always. 405nm can burn lighter colors much better than any other popular wavelength of the same power.

    Blue/Violet laser things.

Sorry, but 450mw of 405 is about as bright as 25mw of green. You're never going to get very much visability out of blu-ray. Though it is the best choice for burning. I'd say the perfect mix of visibility, and burning would be 445 for sure. Just make sure you have goggles for whatever wavelength...

WL safety goggles vs. 780mw 445

I wouldn't either... If they didn't work. Obviously they do work extremely well. If you tested them yourself, and got results like this why wouldn't you use them? I didn't buy these from Glenn. I just said he sold some like these.

WL safety goggles vs. 780mw 445

I tested it multiple times, and got the same results, so no, the angle didn't have an effect on how much light came through.

    50mw - Ledshoppe or o-like?

Go to light hound, and buy the AW brand batteries.

NEW UPDATE!!!AixiZ FT 405-445nm glass lenses from Hak

Re: UPDATED!!!AixiZ FT 405 glass lenses ordered from Hakzaw Hey Len you mentioned in the update they're putting a different coating on them for 445? I'd like to get one to see if it's actually different, or just how much better they are.

@yobresal Yeah, there's a few cotton fibers in the bottom of the module that I'm trying to fish out, but they seem to be stuck. I'm using microfiber from now on.

Never mind :D. I found the isopropyl!!! It made a world of difference. the uncollimated output is back to normal. Thanks JBTM. I just got a peak at 530mw, so it's back to normal! @Uranium- You realize these are ran at over 600mw in the projector right? I think we usually run diodes at 150 to...

Nope, didn't help. It actually made the window dirtier. It's just a sick diode I guess :(

I'll keep you updated on how mine does. It's only puttin out 500mw now. So sad :p. I'm keepin the duty cycles really really short on mine now just cause that makes me paranoid.

There's nothing on the diode window that I can see with about 20x magnification. No difference between the two diodes that I can see.

Here's the normal output of the higher power one. Here's the degraded one. Sad day :( I'll probably have to replace it soon.

No, it's the weak one. I'm uploading pics now. It seems to have degraded by 20+mw already :(.
