    Yellow HeNe 594nm on Ebay

I'm guessing the PSU it came with originally was a mains voltage supply. Off the top of my head that tube should use like 2750VDC @ 6.5mA.

    Remember to exercise those argons!

So it's been almost six months (10/20) since I last ran the argon twins. Yeah.... The bigger head fired on the first pulse as usual and much to my shock the stubborn one fired on the fourth (or maybe fifth) which isn't bad since it usually fires on the third or fourth. I honestly figured it'd...

    Yellow HeNe 594nm on Ebay

Yellows pop up fairly often. I'm still waiting for a 612nm to complete my HeNe collection.

    Bare tube 594nm HeNe's?

They look like any other bare HeNe tube for the most part. Some manufactures like REO used a mostly metal tube instead of glass. Duty cycle AFAICT is pretty much infinite though I don't run mine excessively to prolong tube life as much as possible.

    589nm vs. 593.5nm Pointers?

For only 4nm there is quite a bit of a difference. Left is a 594 HeNe which is identical (to my eye at least) to 593.5 and right id 589. It's a bit over exposed but the colors are pretty close to spot on. 2013-10-04_09-58-43pm by ltkernelpanic, on Flickr 593.5/594 is an amber color since...

JDS Uniphase 2214-20SLMD laser! (PIC HEAVY)

Re: JDS Uniphase 2214-20SLMD laser! Pin out sounds right and paper clips should be fine for a quick test. I used one for years on one of my computers to trick it into thinking the on board video card had a monitor attached so I could use the built in AV card. If you're going to try and do a...

Oh man 612 HeNE is just amazing.

Nice. Still need to get one (or two) to complete my HeNe rainbows. Ideally I'd love to have a bare tube and one in a head since I have one of each of the other wavelengths.

    Cyonics Uniphase 2214-40MLA Argon Laser

If it's been sitting for a long time it may be high pressure and need a kick from something like an oudin coil. It is possible to nurse them back to health if they're not too far gone. It's taken over two years to get my fussy cylindrical head to fire on the second or third pulse instead of on...

    Cyonics Uniphase 2214-40MLA Argon Laser

Most people suggest getting a squirrel cage blower but I ended up buying this instead for my cylindrical head. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005KMOJPK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 It's intended to be used as an inline exhaust fan but it's worked fine for me. I use...

    Gas Lasers.....Lovely, Lovely Gas Lasers.

13 lines? Damn I can only get 12.* The pics inspired me to take a few with my new D7100 before I put my big argon back in storage and man does it blow the socks off my old D90. Too bad all six lines don't show up in the pic. I'll probably post a few more in the multimedia forum if I have time...

    CNI 589nm Rebuild Questions

I haven't managed to get the front barrel of the thing so I can't verify for sure if the diode went LED or not. I couldn't remember who at the time had a replacement diode and offered to take a look at it but I think it was you now that you mention it. If finances allow it I may get in contact...

    CNI 589nm Rebuild Questions

This thread reminds me I need to try and get my CNI 589 GLP fixed sometime too (it's only been 3 years). I suspect the pump diode went LED since the driver pulled the same amount of current before and after the thing stopped working.

    Remember to exercise those argons!

I don't have a tape handy but it's about 24 inches long compared to my other head's which is five feet long. The tube is a 2214-10MLMA that has about 9,000 hours on it. I haven't measured the tube voltage (I'd have to look up what pins on the remote to probe) but while it's at high hours the...

    Remember to exercise those argons!

Finally got off my duff and gave the agrons a workout last night. Really liking the fact that my formally stubborn head is consistently firing on the third or fourth pulse. Just wish I could have a place I could keep them setup all the time. I'd also love to find an umbilical extension for my...

    Remember to exercise those argons!

I was looking at this thread yesterday to see when the last time I had mine out. It's been almost four months again.:o Probably not going to be able to do anything about it for another week or so.

more plane attacks killing our hobby 7-16-15

*Sigh* I was just listening to the local ATC feed an a plane on final approach into our podunk airport was hit by a green laser about 5 minutes ago. Edit: The plane's captain was talking with ATC after they landed and said they were hit again but this time they were low enough to see where the...

    Tesla Coil Build Thread

So I started assembling my kit tonight and have three more gripes. 1. They nicely labeled the parts bags X.Y but nowhere in the damned instructions do they reference that number! 2. The damned microUSB connection on the interrupter should have been pre-installed. This kit is intended for...

PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please sub

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please Those are good prices on those heads but shipping them from Israel to the US would be risky due to the high potential for breakage. (not that the USPS has a spotless record for getting things delivered intact...
