    Survival Laser 1-1.3W 445 Review

Good review; thanks. So far I have a Survival Lasers "R" 660nm red, over the next couple of months I intend to get the SL 405nm (SL-V) and the SL 445nm (SL-I). EXCELLENT little lasers. FUN to receive in the mail, put together, and operate. The only problem I had was trying to write on that...

    How colours work.

Re: This may be a very silly question. Don't think of lasing materials as "paints" or "pigments". "Mixing" them is the wrong way to think. Lasing occurs at an atomic or molecular level... reactions between energy and chemistry. You need to study more.

    How colours work.

Re: This may be a very silly question. (technically the 808nm or 1064nm doesn't get "converted"; it pumps or "energizes" the crystals for the final output color).

    How colours work.

Re: This may be a very silly question. It isn't necessarily the color of the cyrstal, or the *gas*, etc. It's a function of chemistry and physics.

    How colours work.

Re: This may be a very silly question. *Basic* answer for a *basic* question; There are some compounds in nature that *can* produce laser radiation *under the right circumstances*. But not EVERYTHING can produce a laser beam. Seawater doesn't produce laser beams. Neither does coffee (although...

    Laser labelling and classification

There are 2 classification systems in use; from what I can see, *most lasers* are classified under the "old system", but I've seen some classified under the "revised system". I am NOT an expert. This link might help you: Laser safety - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

My Aurora C6 with LPC-826, Copper Heatsink and 1085 DIY Driver

That's probably it then. I'm still relatively new at this, but I think that the general consensus on G-1 lenses is that *in general* they are better for burning... but maybe a 3-element lens can make a smaller spot.

    blocking radio waves/micro waves

^^^ Sorry, but I am convinced that anyone who abuses cats are going to burn in hell. It's akin to pedophilia. Blow guns are not practical. I DID try something a couple of years ago... using ham radio equipment. Didn't work. I pumped a 5 watt VHF/UHF signal through a VERY directional antenna (a...

LAZERER 200mW 532nm Green Laser Review, (With 13 Photos)

Very nice review, thanks. This might turn out to be a good company to deal with. Lazerer also has 400mw (two models), and a 500mw. If the company is still going strong by the time I can afford it, I just might get the 500mw, with power certificate, and request that an IR filter be installed.

    Survival Laser Weekend Sale!!

Argh... if only timing were a little better. I abused 2 credit cards WAY too much last month (and not just on lasers - a LOT of junk). It's going to be at least another month before I can make any more purchases. Good luck with the sale!

    blocking radio waves/micro waves

If anyone has some solid info regarding jamming/disabling a neighbor's stereo / "boom box", I would be most appreciative. Short of an "EMP Cannon" kind of thing.

My Aurora C6 with LPC-826, Copper Heatsink and 1085 DIY Driver

Odd. I have a Survival Lasers R, 660nm, rated 300mw, and I have a 650-G-1 lens on it. It should be putting out between, say, 350mw and 380mw or so. I COULD NOT get it to burn WHITE paper (notebook paper) or white paper-towel material. I tried yellow paper (PostIt Note); it would NOT burn it...

<- Newbie here, and I lack experience. I'm suprised that it burns *white* paper. I've had a ~300mw 660nm (with a 650-G-1 Lens, so 300mw + ) for a while now, and I THINK it is based on the same diode. I was *assuming* that it wouldn't burn white paper. I will have to try it.

    Capsiplex Pills Lose Weight

People actually used to use THIS to control weight... I remember last reading about it when I was in high school... apparantly back then, it was STILL in practice (mid - 1970s). It was popular with some fashion models. (EDIT: What it is, is a jar of cultured tapeworm eggs).

    Capsiplex Pills Lose Weight

@ T_J (et al); Agreed, and this has been proven over and over again year after year, study after study (RELIABLE studies). Also, even IF a lose-weight-quick gimmick really worked (and I don't think ANY of them do); it would do nothing for your heart, your circulatory system, your liver...

    Lots of sausage

Just looking at all that cholesterol makes pains in me chest. Like, enough there to put the entire state of Rhode Island into the cardiac ward or something. So... lets see a video of a 6th grader killing a 5 ton carrot. ( ... MAYBE it was a lucky shot ... )

O-like new Crown upgrade 400mW green laser torch/adjustable/waterproof

(@ I.E.); Yes; I understand from learning from forum posts that in general, 405s are "better burners" than 445s. AND more materials will absorb from 405s (or more specifically, it isn't always clear *until you try it* that a material will absorb from a 405). I guess it is the total output from...
