A not so long time ago, one would laugh at a 1W blue laser diode for $45. Maybe the 405nm had come into a new era aswell... This being said I did not expect 1W output. But always nice to have a discussion around it. Most reviews of DX lasers which bases on direct diodes tend to be quite up to...

And the 1W requires quite awesome (additional costs!) safety glasses. Better just buy the 30mW instead. Lots better value for the money :)

They are about as reliable as any other company reselling china lasers without properly LPM:ing them. The pro side of the 445nm's is that it's quite hard to get it really wrong.

Sadly^2 the S&H to Sweden for that auction is a bit to steep for my taste. Especially as I am not very fond of the idea having a lab unit. Unless it goes into a projector ;) Otherwise I would probably have purchased one of those non-correctly-functioning just to have some troubleshooting fun...

What about the first part of the question? And incl IR filter it seems to do a steady 300mW. What will you warranty/guarantee for $700?
