i have 3 builds running this diode @ 2.4A and there is a noticeable difference in the color of them. The more power they are putting out @ that current the less shift there seems to be. This diode is a silly one, I actually want the most inefficient :P

12mm drill bit makes the holes a little big for press fitting. I find that 15/32 is where it's at :P (11.9 mm) you can always sand it down if the module is too big

Re: Sharp GH0631IA2G 185mW Single Mode 638nm I'm loving that low voltage. Looks like a single cell with a linear driver would be possible. Also it would be interesting to see what it would do if cooled. Based on the spec sheet it seems to like it cool.

you most likely won't lose it at 2.4A. I have 2 running at 2.4A. There is a thread that show it working and red shifting up to IIRC 2.8A, but only with a specially build "edge driver".

I also prefer lower nic and higher vg. I started out using 70-80% VG with 3mg nic. Now I mainly vape 6mg Max VG juices. In my toptank I sometimes use 12mg juice or cut it with six for a ~9mg juice. PG creates that "throat hit" that a lot of smokers miss. Higher VG makes for a smoother vape...

I also started out with Kanger products about 2 years ago. I had a subtank mini that worked pretty well as i was very interested in RBA. I now have a ipv5 w/ a griffin tank that i love, stainless steel temp control is where it's at :P. I also have a top tank mini that i use in more dangerous...

Other than for their awesome beams, i like to use them for engraving. I have a sweet 800mw 405nm in a ehg host that has a side button perfectly placed so i can hold it like a pen and write.
