I was just curious but about the laser you really really need to have a pair of laser safety goggles before you even get a laser. Green lasers are more visible but violet lasers burn better. If you want to burn things I would recommend a violet laser.

I recommend a blu ray laser instead of a green laser. Blu ray violet light is absorbed by materials better than green light is. Since it is absorbed better the blu ray winds up burning things easier. Go with a blu ray. :D Dont bother with a green laser. They are more visible but dont burn as...

When you measure the power of a laser with this method, are you supposed to focus the laser to "burning strength" or do you leave it focused to infinity?

Yeah just make sure that the contact is good and make sure everything is insulated so there are no short circuits. Look at the pictures on the first page of this thread. They will help ALOT during the build. There is a picture showing where to put the glue on the ground wire.

Just put a bit of glue on the plastic piece and glue the ground wire to edge of it. That way when you slip the spacer in it will pack good contact with the ground wire.

Yeah the negative comes from the sleeve which is in contact with the case. The whole case of the flashlight is case negative.
