Trying to build an insane 532 nm laser

At the moment it is disassembled and put into storage. I'm trying to get running a big argon laser but have trouble with the power supply. After that I hope I will return to this project, possibly I'll re-assemble it customly on a thick aluminium plate instead of modifying those LTI-501 lasers.

Trying to build an insane 532 nm laser

Thanks for your replies. AFAIK, Brewster windows of He-Ne tubes are made of fused quartz. And yes, the Brewster angle is wavelength-sensitive because the refractiotion coefficient is different on different wavelengthes. But as for quartz -- it has n=1.53 at lambda=1.2 um and n=1.54 at lambda...

Trying to build an insane 532 nm laser

BTW, I've found a shard from a big He-Ne tube with a big Brewster window. Will it work as a polarizer if I put it into the resonator of the YAG laser? How can I make sure then that the laser beam is polarized?

Laserbuilder's collection of gas and other lasers

I cannot decide what to do first. I have 2 argons which I need to get running, the GOS1001 unit and the LOS4M dye laser. Argons look like to be the easiest ones in this list, but still I can't decide. Probably, at first I need to take away the CVL power unit and other stuff from my table to have...

Homebuilt 3-5W Copper Vapour Laser System

I don't have a proper power meter yet. I have found one, but than it turned that it measures energy in Joules, not power in Watts, so it is for single-pulsed lasers.

CNI GLP-577: The World's First Yellow Laser Pointer

Very impressive. Very beautiful wavelength. But still it is more profitable to buy an old gas (CVL or CuBr) laser or a DPSS for those thousands of dollars. At least you'll have 1 Watt of 577\578 nm. Sorry for criticising. By the way, my CVL is portable too -- the laser head has a handle on it...

Laserbuilder's collection of gas and other lasers

    25) My new find -- a bunch of Nd:Glass rods. The biggest one, 45*620 mm, is a spare for GOS1001 laser blaster, the second is 30*620 from an unknown laser and it has a fatal damage -- a big shard of it is chipped. The third is 20*270 mm and all other small ones are from laser welders.

K301V 125W CW Nd:YAG pumping chamber for sale

I would be also interested in exchanging the items from this thread on other lasers or laser related equipment, instead of money. I am interested in old and powerful gas lasers. Glass argon/krypton ones and Cu\CuBr lasers are in the highest priority.

    Uranium Glass

Unfortunately, I will possibly disappoint everyone in this thread who hopes to get some laser light from the uranium glass. As far as I know from my old dusty books, _there_were_ solid state lasers _existing_ that utilized Uranium U3+ ions as an active medium. These ions were put into CaF2 or...

Homebuilt 3-5W Copper Vapour Laser System

Today I've squeezed everything out from my CVL tube. With the improved power unit I could push in 2.2-2.3 kW of power and got much more yellow light than in previous experiments. The beam is much more "lemon" in colour, not pure green. I think I have 5 real watts of light here, it burnt wood...

Homebuilt 3-5W Copper Vapour Laser System

It is already working and I got some nice lasing yesterday. But I've encountered a problem that with the raise of the voltage I got sparks and arcs in the places where they must not appear, inside the Blumlein generator. Now I'm improving the insulation and adding a snubber circuit for the main...
