Looking for Information on Random Lasers

Hi all, i am looking for information on random lasers. The reason behind this is because I am planning to do research related to random lasers for my final year project (Chemistry Degree). Currently, my plan is to embed ZnO nanoparticles in PMMA, forming a colloid that can potentially be...

Any 1W laser diodes that I can run on 3.7V?

You can run almost any laser diode off a 18650 battery. The thing is, you need to get the proper driver for the diode. Since laser diodes need a fixed amount of current, you will need a driver to supply constant current to it, otherwise the laser diode will just burn and die instantly, and all...

Voltage drop of SLD3236VF 405nm laser diode

Make sure to not over current this little diode, i've killed one before by driving it way beyond 140mA. It seems like this diode just can't handle higher currents. However its a relatively cheap diode and it's good for practice.

    NUBM31T 95W 455nm

I don't know how to multi-reply but hey, i just wanna say thanks to alaskan, wizardg and paul. I have a stronger understanding of TTL now. This will come in handy for me as one of my lecturer's in my University is asking me to study Lidar tech, and iirc Lidar involves Pulses, and TTL is...

    NUBM31T 95W 455nm

Unfortunately i can't answer your question. I'd consider myself nothing but a beginner. And i know little about TTL. As a temporary solution, perhaps you can just solder the TTL control wire directly to the TTL socket. I understand a fair bit of chinese, and according to what the description...

    NUBM31T 95W 455nm

I've stumbled upon something that i think is relevant for people who might wanna dabble with this monster diode. Driver from taobao: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10.5-c.w4002-396612148.44.73c127fbf8EGsp&id=601690664285 It takes 12V and boosts it all the way to 85V. Price is...

    New! Sharp Diodes 1W 520nm & 5W 455nm & +2W 638nm

Okay, let me preface this by saying that i'm absolutely trash at physics and i have very basic understanding of optics. So, according to what i've learnt from reading posts on LPF, the general rule is "the longer the FL of your colli lens, the lesser your divergence, at the lost of getting a...

Someone to build a portable laser stronger then the odin

Cool shitpost. In all honesty though, i too dreamed about lots of crazy shit when i was in my early teens, and i still remember bugging lazeerer to sell me a high powered blue laser for 30US shipped. That was about 6-7 years ago and honestly it was very good that i didn't get a high powered...

Hi everyone !, new member from Cyprus :)

Welcome to LPF and enjoy your stay. If you just want to give the 303 laser a quick test, its possible to shot it up into the night sky, however make sure nothing is flying overhead, and also make sure you hold onto the laser tightly and not let it hit any living thing. I'd say that you are...

So mad i could punch a baby

My deepest condolences as well, i have also tore a pin off the sharp 505nm, not really an expensive diode but im still in University and lets just say that whole experience made me super cautious about diode pins.

    Some my laser and host

The mix copper and titanium host is absolutely stunning, i am not even sure if there are words in the English language that can describe how badly i want to buy it but alas, being a student, i'm no where close to being able to afford it. Perhaps i would bite the bullet a couple months down the...

NUB07 465nm. Gonna love this one fellas!

My deepest condolences for your loss, i too had killed a couple diodes whilst i was testing them incorrectly. That lead to them being shorted and killed. However all of my diodes were cheap ones, their total sum was below a single NUB07 :ROFLMAO: And such is life, all trial and error.

Acebeam W30 flashlight/Sanwu Striker 7w blue laser: warning!

How did ya shine the laser at the phosphor layer? To me it seems like the phosphor chip is supposed to be shown at from the back, while the white light emits from the front. Perhaps it was not designed to have the phosphor chip be excited from the front? I have also seen phosphor chips that are...

    Tactical flashlight question

I think i know which model those lights are even without you showing pictures, they are very common in online shopping shops. The zoom behavior is normal, you would project the LED into focus when you zoom out. As for the brightness, the sellers usually Lie so i'm guessing its at best around 250...

    Increase mW of a laser.

You need to access the circuit board of the laser, and then find the current adjustment pot. SLOWLY turn it in the direction that makes the laser brighter. Anyway i don't think you will get much of a increase in power, and you might even burn out the infra-red pump diode. Your question is...
