If I remember correctly they're about $15000... cheers, kernelpanic

Nope. (Browsing from work. Infosec blocks that host...) cheers, kp

    Why I don't like Dell

Actually Asus makes barebones laptops now. It's pretty easy to slap components in and go. ;) And maxkillz- yes, Dell owns alienware. Which makes Wes's post Hi-larious considering the title of the thread. cheers, kp

    Diodes from 803T sleds $15

    scopeguy20, I'd buy 2 sleds... cheers, kernelpanic

    Time tunnel problems...

Schrecken_Licht, I couldn't view your pics. But I can tell you that- 1. You want the mirror to 'wobble' just a little bit. You need only a few degrees off of perpendicular to the axis of spin of the motor. 2. For the time tunnel to be round(ish) you'll want to keep the plane of the mirror...

    Diodes from 803T sleds $15

I saw it asked earlier with no answer. Can we get the whole sled? thanks, kernelpanic

    My Handheld 3 Axis Scanner.

Using the laser to cut the mirrors was a way to easily end up with balanced mirrors. As I posted above, I'm going to get some thinner acrylic and cut 2 circles for each mirror, then glue them together. The back one will have the hole, the fron one won't. (This also allows us to use glass mirrors...

    Aconsen 40-50 mW module

Wackbag, How is your heatsink constructed? Is it washers or one piece? I looked at that Dorcy host at Target and thought it would make a nice side-button laser. cheers, kernelpanic

GREEN LASER MODULE price $10.50last 7days .(CLOSED

Re: GREEN LASER MODULE at price $10.50. last 7days I run mine at 4.5v. Strangely, it runs in TEM01 at 3v. When I bought it and put it into a dorcy, I thought it was a bunk module till I tried a 3.6v li-ion and it went into TEM00. So I put it in a jayrob heatsink (It was in a smaller...

    Creating a Spirograph

correct. Depends on your green module. But if you use the LM317 to regulate, then almost any DC supply would work... cheers, kernelpanic p.s.- Caleb- Got mine pretty small, photos are here- http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1224785501 By the time I'm bored with it I'll...

    Creating a Spirograph

QMD, most of the motors you'll find are 3v. So if you want to use a 5v fan, you may want to add an LM317 circuit to give 3v to the laser module and motors. Really though, I doubt you need a fan for a 5mW green. A good passive heatsink should do fine. Anyway, a normal 5vdc fan will likely...

Simple Adjustable Laser driver (V. 2) It Works!!!

Re: Simple Adjustable Laser driver (V. 2) It Works The resistors will definitely depend on the mosfet. C8 should depend more on the op-amp's level of internal compensation than the mosfet used. That part I got. ;) Thanks, kernelpanic

    SZFlashlight

Jeez, I thought DX's site was bad. wholesale-portal.com won't even let you browse the catalog until you sign up... Amway anyone? :P If someone wants to try this site they are welcome to. But for me this is a FAIL. cheers, kernelpanic p.s. They want you to pay to join. ($37.97 US) They say...

Has anyone tried these lenses with their PHR?

Yes that is what he is saying (At WAY LESS than optimal power- 2/3 lost!)) And you will also get a larger dot as the focal lenth is so long... See the attached picture. It'll make perfect sense. cheers, kernelpanic

    My Handheld 3 Axis Scanner.

That's the idea. The shaft collar is 1/2" and has a set screw. Most modules are <12mm, so it should fit almost any pointer. Both the 40mW green and my 200mW red look impressive. 100mW Blu-ray looks a lot dimmer. But it does look very cool projected onto glow-in-the-dark things... cheers...

    spirograph project help

For the pager vibrator motors, I've found that 100 ohms per volt of battery supply works well. It's just enough to bring the motor to a halt. (So for 1.5V I use 150 ohms, for 3v 300 ohms. Use less and the motor won't stop, more and the adjustment is only at 1 end of the pot.) hope this helps...

Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits pens

Re: Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits Thanks for the update. Considering the delay, I'm glad I ordered earlier than I needed to. (Making Christmas presents...) I definitely still want the 2 lavadrives ordered on the 5th... And 'Bonus' sounds nice too ;) Thanks Again! cheers...
