1.2W of 445nm isn't very special these days. The price is a bit high, I think $70 us (~60€)would be better. The batteries and chargers don't add much value to most people since anyone worth their salt probably has better ones already. Can probably charge $10 or so for shipping. It's easier...

Why not just buy one for $5-$10? Would save you a lot of money. No need to build something so simple and spend 5-10x as much. Build something you can't buy like 488nm or something.

Depends on wavelength. A 50-100mW 532nm is perfect. Any less might be hard to see (but probably fine down to 25mW or so) any more would be too bright and might cause you to loose your night vision.

I would suggest just getting a cheap 532nm green pen from ebay, those are usually 50mW or more which is a all you need for star pointing. You can usually get them for a few dollars or a 3 pack for $5-$10. Or you could even get a 532nm laser on ebay in that same host you wanted to use with a...

You have tried different batteries right? It should last longer than that. Would a 26650 fit? Those come in pretty high capacities. I know some cheap rechargeable C batteries are just a shell with a AA inside.

Just use whatever and spray it with black grill paint, 30mW is a very small amount of power. Unless it needs to be see through in which case more research would be required as to what blocks 850nm.

532nm has better divergence than 520, also closer to the magic 555 which makes it equivalent to about 700mW of 520 brightness wise. In the daylight anyways. Also beam expander is $100 not sure where you got $133 from.

I have noticed that unless the laser is in motion, they will tend to start burning the goggles and that burnt plastic significantly reduces the amount of photons going through. At least until it burns through.
