here, these are known to be great for the price. on average they put out around 60-70mw http://www.ledshoppe.com/Product/ledp/LP1076.htm I love mine! had it for a year now and its still going strong.

Also, dont spend a lot of cash on your first. Chances are fairly good you will break it completely by accident.

Seriously start with a 100mw green, it will be incredibly bright, and will feed your addiction.
