    Blue/Violet laser things.

Nope... they just called it that because it's a "blue laser", even though it looks more violet. It's right at the boundary between blue and violet, but Violet-Ray sounds stupid.

    My eye

Oh come on. He looked in the end of the freaking thing while it was turned on. Even when I was five years old, I would have been intelligent enough not to do that...

    Cheap dollar-store laser pointers.

Holy crap, that is amazing. If only GOOD lasers could have a divergence like that.

    Features required for WL-like functionality?

I know that Wicked Lasers doesn't have the best reputation, but they claim to include several features in their lasers that set them apart from other dealers - heat dissipation for unlimited duty cycles, IR filters, etc. So I was wondering - when purchasing a kit from Jayrob or elsewhere, and...

    Blue/Violet laser things.

Why is it best for burning? Doesn't burning capability depend only on the functional wattage of the laser?

    Blue/Violet laser things.

... because the diode comes from a Blu-Ray player, which uses a 405nm laser to read the discs.

    Cheap dollar-store laser pointers.

I was doing a Google search to find an answer, and had no luck. What is the usual wattage of those little piece of crap $0.99 red laser pointers you pick up from the dollar store?

    Website- Laserto.com is fishy?

I always find it funny that all of these Chinese companies have support people with blatantly western names - "Jody", "Lawrence", "Anna". It's almost as if, when someone applies for a job at these companies, they are required to adopt an English pseudonym while working so that all of the western...

    Dealextreme 200mw laser?

I don't even own any lasers yet, but I understand the danger that accompanies them. This guy probably shouldn't be allowed to own one if he can't comprehend why safety goggles are essential when operating any moderately powerful laser. Oh well, cvrtsniper. Have fun permanently blinding...

    DX 5mW Violet question.

Yep, I saw that one. Just a little wary that nobody seems interested in such a low price. Definitely interested though. What would be the best section of the forum to look for a builder?

    FS:445nm Modules (CLOSED)

Re: FS:445nm Modules & a Laser Yeah, no clue where to begin. The one guide I have found was deleted because of some drama on the thread.

    DX 5mW Violet question.

What is PHR, and how do I get in touch with a builder?

    FS:445nm Modules (CLOSED)

Re: FS:445nm Modules & a Laser Aw, shucks. Unfortunately, I'm totally new to lasers, so I wouldn't have a clue what to do with those red (or the blue) modules. I see a bunch of loose wires, and I see that they need lenses. I'd be totally lost, without any idea how to make them functional...

    DX 5mW Violet question.

Because I'm aware that violet beams are not highly visible, I'm going for an inexpensive violet pointer in the 5-ish mW range since even a higher-powered one isn't going to be highly visible unless I'm willing to pay many hundreds. So I was looking at the DealExtreme 5mW Violet pen, and it...

    FS:445nm Modules (CLOSED)

Re: FS:445nm Modules & a Laser Holy crap, is that retro laser really 5 Watts? It says "5W"... Also, these red burning lasers. Did you build them? Any chance you could post pictures?

Needing help from Aussies to phone a scammer

I called him. His mother answered and told me that he was swimming in the Great Barrier Reef and was stung by a swarm of Box Jellyfish. They found his bloated corpse washed up on the shore, being slowly consumed by a flock of seagulls. They opted for cremation of his remains. However, the...
