Blord, I'm sorry this is happening to you. I wish you the best of luck. I don't know if it's an option for you, but I have gone to only accepting money orders or cashier's checks for lasers. It's impossible to reverse, and gives both parties the protection of the law, rather than the fickle...

Apparently, there are turnkey IR systems designed for just this type of thing. My boss hasn't given me the links to the company though.

What the hell happened to my subscription to this thread?? Anyway, Isaac, I am using 3 element lenses on all of my single-modes now. I had to part with my G-2 lens. It's cool, because they all look very nice and balanced, and this collection isn't built for burning...though it does well...

Let me recommend a cheap LPC 826, 650nm (red) build for your first go round. All you need is the $10-$20 diode and module, a cheap linear driver, a cheap host with a heatsink, and some batteries. It's an easy-peasy build and wont cost you a fortune when you blow a diode or driver.

Thank you all, very much for the kind words. I love working with you guys and the other members here. I'm not much of a designer, nor a machinist. But, I do what I can to put my own, special touch on all of the lasers I build. I'm about to change jobs for my boss and become a pet cremation...
