I will second what mwang says, SL is top notch quality & Gary (who runs SL) is very friendly, helpful and straightforward as well as a respected member here. I have only good things to say about them from my own personal experience as well as reading about other peoples experience with them...

Damn I just threw out a small box of browns from my diode stash last week! None of them were around the 2W mark but some of them tested pretty close. If I'd have known I would've mailed them to you, sorry man! :beer:

I've been to New Zealand before, both the north & south island. You live in a beautiful country & giant weta bugs scare the hell out of me! Your best bet on buying a quality laser is right here on this forum. You should also make sure to get a pair of safety goggles suitable for a 445nm...
