FWIW, I heard of people finding them for ~$250. But regardless, you're right; mine's a so-called safe queen. I "use" the standard Griptilian as well as the stonewashed Doug Ritter Griptillian (also pictured above).

Wow, that is light... ! The closest I come to that is with my BM Osborne 943 (pictured above along with my OTF) and it weighs in at 2.9oz. Yes it is, and one of my favorites, at that! It's the "gold" edition of the Benchmade Griptilian, with carbon fiber scales and M4 steel. Here's my review...

I've heard that Knifeworks is very popular among those in the know. Knifeart is also up there. BladeHQ has a large selection (don't know about their customer service though). Since you seem to be wary of Benchmade then consider CRKT in that price range...
