d FS or Trade: Nd:YAG rowith optics for 532nm! Build a multi-watt green!

Dropped again! $100.... I know I could sell it for more, but i just got back from a week-long vacation and I'm a bit short on cash now $100 shipped anywhere in the USA

    Hard-starting argon?

Plug the PSU directly into the wall rather than a power strip. My trusty 120V multiline argon once had similar issues. It would try forever to start and finally it clicked on. After about 3-4 hours of running at only 5A of tube current, the power strip self destructed. This was a very expensive...

    O-like Crystal

In this type of setup your vanadate and KTP really need to be in two separate mounts. The KTP doesn't need any cooling, it actually does much better when it is warm (so a cold KTP is probably killing quite a bit of power). But you really need the KTP in the center of the cavity. You will...

    O-like Crystal

at this point, IR is spraying everywhere. No point in putting a tiny little IR filter in front of the OC :D another tip, experiment with placing the OC closer and further away. You should get to one point where you get substantially more green. Also, I know it may be a bit hard with your setup...

d FS or Trade: Nd:YAG rowith optics for 532nm! Build a multi-watt green!

The rod was designed to be side-pumped by four 40W CCP diodes. You don't need that much pump power, but I would say at least one 40W diode.

    O-like Crystal

AWESOME!!! I told you the moment you made green light, even if it is very little, you will be ecstatic. VERY good job. I honestly cant believe you have it lasing at all with the way your OC is mounted  but it works!!! Congrats man! A few tips... what was the ROC on that OC? 100mm...

d FS or Trade: Nd:YAG rowith optics for 532nm! Build a multi-watt green!

Price dropped to $150 This is a killer deal... all that is needed to make a ton of green would be some strong pump diodes and a nice KTP, and a mount to cool the rod.

    Increasing Current on Argon Laser

yeah I have the part number. I'll post it tomorrow for sure, but tonight I just got back from camping and I'm sun-burnt and I'm going to bed :p

473nm 80mW from O-like (with AC psu, TEC and TTL modulation)

Hell if it works at all that is a killer deal. A decent crystal set and output coupler alone is close to $300....:evil:

    Unplesant dealings with FlaminPyro...

While I agree that it is the seller's responsibility to refund if a customer isn't happy, there are a few things that make it tough in the laser world. Many people get ideas of how they expect a laser to be before they get it, like a super bright awesome orange, and then when they get it it's...

    sort of embarrassing question.

Does he let you use the oven? I'm sure you could cause just as much damage to yourself/the house with the oven. ANYWAY... just go to radio shack and pick one up for like $13. They work jsut fine!

    A word about calibration...

Mine is NIST traceable. I should know, I did it myself  You don't necessarily need lasers to calibrate a thermal head, but like ben said you do need a temperature controlled chamber (in which the TC and temperature reading device is also calibrated) and having a calibrated power meter...
