I talked to this guy and he claimed to throttle 9mm diodes at 3.5A... He then claimed that the out put would exceed 4.5 Watts. I don't know what to think. Seems a bit off putting to me.

IMO i think anything above 5mW could be harmful. I think 3mW - 5mW is ideal.
