How can this dispute be resolved with Dr Lava

EDIT: It has been found that the driver was pre-set and the blow-outs were caused by mis-wiring by SirVesa, see page 3 if you are interested. Laserbee, I am a firm believer in good customer service and this is why I was working toward a resolution with the customer via PM before he posted...

How can this dispute be resolved with Dr Lava

EDIT: It has been found that the driver was pre-set and the blow-outs were caused by mis-wiring by SirVesa, see page 3 if you are interested. That is a good real-life precedent and is exactly what I was offering - 50% of the first diode. The second diode as has been stated was entirely due to...

How can this dispute be resolved with Dr Lava

you are the laser manufacturer. you are responsible for testing components before assembly, just as I am responsible for testing the components that go into the driver (and I do, and I have to weed out the bad ones), just as toyota is responsible for testing the components that go into their...

How can this dispute be resolved with Dr Lava

EDIT: It has been found that the driver was pre-set and the blow-outs were caused by mis-wiring by SirVesa, see page 3 if you are interested. Well we were negotiating this via PM, but here it is so here we go. Drivers are just one component in a laser system, and it is up to the builder to...

    FS Blue Laser - 445nm 50mw - $499

Hey, nice diodes. Just a word of caution - the 7242 has the 3.8mm package so it won't be compatible with the 5.6mm housings we are so used to using. Can you post the full datasheet?

My two new hosts waiting drivers and diodes(i'm still a newbie...)

Hi rseal7, don't worry about the posts in a row; your quality workmanship and technical ability shows through, and you've already made a nice contribution to this forum in this thread. Nice builds, and welcome! :) You noted that a solvent-based epoxy works best for the thermal adhesive...

    reviving old threads...

I'm against automatic closing of old threads. Often times new informatino can be added to these old threads that can be very helpful, but if it's closed, a new thread must be created. This process tends to dilute thread value away from searching and toward the here and now. I'm not sure why...

    Transfer Data with Lasers?

Hi guys, this is possible, I've been using a free space laser to transmit digital audio from my TV to the surround amplifier for a few years now. The bandwidth of s/pdif is about 6-8MHz. The receivers can be had for a few dollars and contain built in thresholding and AGC. Search digikey for a...

    need help with dac/scanner build

If you need this working reliably for a show in a few days, I'd suggest getting a RIYA micro instead of messing with this. The sound card DAC isn't meant to be a plug and play system. Also, you bought it from WHERE? :)

    Is AixiZ High?

Aixiz was the first seller to provide us with inexpensive laser housings and lenses, back in a group buy I did before LPF even existed. They had a lot to do with getting this whole thing started. I'm not sure if you have a bone to pick with them and that's why you bring this up now...

    500mw 445nm True Blue Diode $470 =)

These are pretty exciting diodes. Typically they would cost thousands in low quantities like this. For pointer purposes, they aren't that bad, and will amaze you with how powerful this blue wavelength appears compared to 405nm. I have looked into some FAC solutions, some costing as much as...

    Best Laser Show EVER!

That show is done with a German software called Laser Design Studio (LDS for short). It's one of over 100 that come with the software.

    My New 6X Build - SF-AW210 - Not What I Expected

Nice work. You did everything right, from what I can tell. The resolution of my plot of that diode is at 5mA or 2.5mA, so it's fine enough to show kinks. That test diode didn't have the kink at 180mA. Plots shouldn't jump around like you see in the posted plot, they should be perfectly...

Introducing two new miniature drivers for portable lasers

Re: Introducing two new miniature drivers for portable lasers + Kenom Fundraiser! Extra current range is added at the top and a little at the bottom end to make sure that you can adjust it to at least the specified level, even with some manufacturing and resistor variations. I always suggest...

    Creating ILD frames

You can easily draw frames in inkscape and run them through ILD SOS to convert them to ild files. ILD SOS can load DXF and SVG files created from any graphics drawing program. This way, you can use the easy-to-use graphics program to make laser art a lot more easily than you can with most...

Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits pens

Hi, via PM is typically the best. I got your message, and have now replied. Just a heads-up to those that might not have seen it yet, the new MicroBoost driver for BLu-rY is available, along with a low dropout Groove2 driver...
