Interest in exotic lasers? Come here.

The current winning bids will be placed in the Original post I do reserve the right to cancel if this doesn't gain enough interest (bad economic times for everyone and all) but don't expect that to happen. thanks!

Interest in exotic lasers? Come here.

Hi guys, I expect the auction duration to last about 1 week. The lasers will have a 6 month warranty. The reason I'm doing it this way is because these are not commodity items like most pointers and even some gas lasers, they are very unique. The pearl host especially has gained a lot of...

Interest in exotic lasers? Come here.

Hi guys, I'm having a private PM silent auction in a pair of one-of-a-kind lasers as a fundraiser to help dig me out of a hole. A pair of exotic lasers. First, a 600mW 445nm Blue laser built into the Kryton Smooth Pearl: That image was from when it still had a $300 ggw installed. The new...

    500mW 445nm 5.6mm can laser diode

These are a perfect blue color, the peak of your eye sensitivity to blue. Also at 500mW they are incredibly bright. Howver, due to recent events this is no longer for sale.

    150mW 473nm analog modulation show/lab laser

For sale is a 150mW 473nm s-ky branded laser. Measured at around 165-180mW. I've been using this laser lightly in my rig for about 1.5 years with no problems. I'm now changing over to 445nm. Analog modulation, speed is good for dpss, probably about 30k, I haven't measured directly but have...

    500mW 445nm 5.6mm can laser diode

Hi guys, I got a few extras and thought I'd share the deal.. 445nm blue wavelength (444nm measured) 500mW max power output lasing threshold 200mA slope 1mW/mA typ. Emission: 10x45 degrees Comes with chart plot of operation. Asking $420

    500mw 445nm True Blue Diode $470 =)

I have a few extras of these still in the original packing with the original sellers data sheet with the curve for the individual diode available if anyone is interested. Less than the ebay cost.

Introducing two new miniature drivers for portable lasers

Mike, I hope you got it by now! All - a manual has been posted for the Groove2 here.

LM3410X based boost converter, SPARK driver! PART 2

5.42V is measured because I used a 27 ohm power resistor as a dummy load, because of its stability. So if you are using a diode as your load you need to measure its forward voltage and all input parameters after it heats up to calculate your efficiency.

LM3410X based boost converter, SPARK driver! PART 2

Yep, this is how I calculated it, all parameters were measured at steady state: FlexDrive: 293mA in, 4V in =1.172W in 201mA out, 5.42V out = 1.089W out 1-(PIn-POut)/PIn = 0.93 (93%) driver power dissipation 83mW MicroBoost: 315mA in, 4V in =1.26W in 201mA out, 5.42V out = 1.089W out...

LM3410X based boost converter, SPARK driver! PART 2

Hi, thanks for that. I went and measured it for both the FlexDrive and the MicroBoost drive, with 200mA out into about 5.4V with a 4V input. The FlexDrive operates at 93% efficiency and the MicroBoost at 86% efficiency. However the MicroBoost is still the driver I would suggest for the...

Simple driver to single-pulse diode in nanoseconds?

Sounds like an intriguing application. Check this driver out: Discrete high-speed laser modulator schematic off the bat it can get you about 500ns pulse width, if you replace the transistors with RF transistors you could get where you want. It's not micro-controlled but can accept a control...

LM3410X based boost converter, SPARK driver! PART 2

It's still a hobby for me too, I enjoy designing and making these performance drivers so that all kinds of tiny builds are possible for all forum members. Every time it's like a new puzzle that needs to be solved as to how much can be crammed into such a small space, and maintain as much...

LM3410X based boost converter, SPARK driver! PART 2

Hi, just saw this, and thought you might like to know that this IS now available and in fact was being made when you posted that :) It's called the Groove2. Hand making boards and hand soldering components is a part of the prototyping process I'm always glad to have over with.. It's only fun...

    FS: Laser Tools

These are great tools, I can personally say that the little screwdriver for setting the Flexdrives works great, and can be used with the newer Boost Drive and Groove2 drivers as well. Thanks for helping us out with these tools.

How can this dispute be resolved with Dr Lava

No. With that connection you probably ran a good 800-1000 mA through it.

How can this dispute be resolved with Dr Lava

exactly. and that's what caused the failure.

How can this dispute be resolved with Dr Lava

wow. ok. After seeing that scan, clearly the driver is in fact pre-set, and I do recall pre-setting it. The reason I had originally thought I hadn't set it is that I hadn't marked the set point in my purchase records, but there is no way the driver can have that marking and those solder...

Even if you just post the receipt with the right date and it's undoctored I'll make good on my original offer.
