    12x Murder Fund! + Graph!

Re: 12x Murder Fund! (Complete!) Is there an I-V plot for the first diode? I dug back a few pages and found this http://laserpointerforums.com/f38/12x-murder-fund-complete-45355-7.html#post627578

    12x Murder Fund! + Graph!

Re: 12x Murder Fund! (Complete!) I may have missed it, but is there a central location (like the first post) where data is being posted about these babies? To start with I'm talking basic things like P-I-V plots.

    Pulse Laser Gun

This is the most impressive home-made laser gun I've seen yet. Congratulations on your fine build, please keep it under lock and key, store batteries separately, like a gun and ammo. This certainly could have the ability to kill, but just like spud cannons with the right respect it can be a...

    laser diode variable driver

Yes to both, see this thread, still on the same page as yours. It has schematics, too, just re-calculate the resistances for your purpose. http://laserpointerforums.com/f42/help-custom-driver-47311.html

420mW 658nm Lab Module for Shows

EDIT: SOLD! Hey guys, this module is designed to be used in a projector, asking $298: 420mW 658nm red laser module with analog modulation. 3mm beam diameter, divergence. < 1mrad, > 100kHz bandwidth, analog modulation. Built with FlexMod, lasorbs, LDOC diodes, modified lenses, modified...

Good thinking, good use, and thank you for your service! I hope that wako doesn't arm himself with anything greater, for his sake.

    12x BR DIODES

Hey Mike, way to go! This shows clearly that the 310mA limit is not a hard and fast rule, it dpends on your diode. The REAL limit is the output voltage and some 12x diodes can apparently accept over 500mA at 6V. So, the take-away is after you set your FlexDrive at 300mA and connect it to the...

    Help for a custom driver

Concerning the spike, are those plots from the input or output of the driver? I would expect a spike if they are measured on the input side. However, note that there is a similar ripple when the circuit is turned off. You might want to decrease your simulation time step so that it is fast...

Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits pens

Just sent out some more orders, and only have a couple left but more should be in very soon.

How to set the Flex Drive's Current.

Correct, Bluefan was incorrect. Are you using a dummy load? They are necessary for presetting this driver, without one it can cause problems.

there will be a groove 2 in the new year, just for future reference.. :)

    RF excited CO2 lasers

Generally when I have had an FET fal it is due to the gate oxide layer being perforated, leading to a measureable resistance from the gate to the source. If the oxide is good, the resistance measurement is supposed to be futile :)

    RF excited CO2 lasers

Hi, thanks Chris. Yep it's a slice of the 7 board dot matrix dd3. The cable is RG59/RG58. At first it was 2 feet only, but a longer cable seemed to have better matching. Because of the very high voltage on the output of the pcb, I'm thinking the 30V gate limit on the final FET may have been...

    RF excited CO2 lasers

Hello fellow RF CO2 wielders, I've picked up one of these now, they are nice and small for the power. However it won't output. I have the single board driver 'sliced' pcb and it seems to be working fine. I measure 60V P-P sine at 27.12MHz at the end of the coax, laser end. Those of you with...

    Micronta Multitester Questions

Haha, I had a Micronta as a firstie also as a gift from my granddad around that age. They work well enough, but the 20k Ohms per volt is pretty low for sensitive measurements. Look around for a FLuke 87 series, that's a meter that will last you the rest of your life. I use an 87 III almost...

    Super Cheap 1.5V DIY Driver!

The joule thief is a nice little unregulated design, but as has been said, output varies with battery voltage somewhat and load as well. Perhaps there is a way to add some feedback with an op amp and current sensing and close the loop

Aging of Blu Ray Diodes - new test procedure

Larry, thank you for your comment and for your data collection and charts, they are helpful for all of us. Yes, I'm curious to see what the aging of an 8x looks like without kinks. So far I haven't gotten my hands on any 'true' 8x diodes. Dave seems to be the collection guy for diode...

Aging of Blu Ray Diodes - new test procedure

spectra, at and above the kink there are large variations in aging, it is a point where the diode is being remodeled and its lifetime is being decreased. It is somewhat unrealistic to expect to be able to target one of the 0 visible aging points and expect long diode life, rather, the point at...

Aging of Blu Ray Diodes - new test procedure

Introduction: Back when KES-400A's were all the rage, in testing them with the P-I-V autoramper I noticed that at certain currents their output power slowly declined a minute amount. In normal pointer operation, this decline is barely noticeable, but it is there. Now is the time to revisit...
