Depends you can drive them in series and the driver will take the extra voltage once one dies and turn it into heat or you can do parallel but then if one die the other one goes. I think thats how it works but its 3.30am so i might just be crazy.

for the most part the nm shifts are small. only the old 445nm and the new 635nm diodes seem to have very large shifts in nm and still i think they are limited to around 5nm max

Well when you burn the coating off the crystals they stop working. Depends on the crystals i would not be the one to ask. It has a 2W pump, you may be able to upgrade it to a 3W no problem im not sure. depending on the epoxy i doubt it.
