Intel is FTW. Reason that amd chip runs so hot is the fact that it has a whopping 125W TDP. I have a 4770k build coming up, *only* 4 cores but hyper threading evens it out XD but very nice build, I'm jealous over that 500GB ssd lol!

I was also assuming because he put the batteries into the host both ways the driver died too LOL. And like you said ---> The selected driver can regulate from the neg side :) When i see questions like this i always assume the worst, that way i can't be flamed for telling somebody to use a part...

New diode & driver from my POV. What host are u using BTW? If you cannot isolate the diode you'll need a driver that regulates the current from the negative side of the diode.

OHHHHH Case positive needs to be regulated differently then normal diodes. I think you may have directly driven the diode off the batteries, because even though you attached a driver, the diode's + is directly touching the host which is the battery's +. This is assuming you haven't isolated the...

The resistor is to set the current output of the driver. Do you have a DMM?

That makes sense, i was talking about when it's hooked up to a driver :) I have actually accidentally shorted LD + & - and they've been fine, but all of DTR's drivers are good quality and have caps so they saved my diodes i guess :D

It is also VERY worth noting IMO that using a G9 lens gave me a 45% power gain over a 3 element! 3 element measured 420mW, g9 measured 650mW.

In my Country (Australia) They are prohibited WEAPONS if theyre over a un-doable 1mW. They may as well ban lasers all together, because im flat out finding a laser <10mW that isnt an expensive rare wavelength...

You should check if it's already ir filtered. Most high quality lasers that are DPSS are filtered, and seeing as yours is going to be ~300mW in a GB which i think would be good quality lasers it may already be filtered... :D
