The Xintd C8 is a good practical light. Some other choices you may want to consider are flashlights from the convoy range available on fasttech. I have a convoy c8 and L2, both great lights. Edit: A c8 would be a tad bulky for pocket carry. It's certainly doable but it isn't really an ideal...

Hmm, wonder if soaking them in a caustic solution for a short while will dissolve the protective layer. I would only want to remove the solution off the threads though as its probably there to protect the aluminum.
