Hmmm, 4000mW in the form of 4V x 1000mA actually pretty much nails it as for input power.;)
When you build your DDL driver, use a 1Ohm resistor for 1.25A current that's a good and safe value.
LULZ, I still have a few of these 5mW red pens with nothing but a resistor as a driver.
I have a few IR diodes, too. You made my building fingers itch.
Hmmmmm, I don't have IR protection though.:(
Great step-by-step tutorial!
Well duh, of course of the spinning thing itself there would be only a dot from shining the
laser on it.
The line will be on the walls around you. You might not notice it though with a weak
laser unless it is night and you turn off the lights.;)
You can still safely play with your laser outside at night, just point the beam towards the (airplane free) sky, I promise you won't go blind.;)
Just try not to hit any retroreflective roadsigns, they shoot back.:D
Maybe you're not spinning it fast enough, or you are missing the octagon with your laser....
It also helps if the spinning thing actually has a mirror-like finish.
Where is your "single point" anyhow? On your wall or on the spinning thing?
Pictures mostly always help.
